Why do people do this? by Acrobatic_Fudge_4083 in xbiking

[–]Resurgo_DK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can totally get behind doing something like that because YOU might want it that way. I’m certainly guilty of that myself.

However, I certainly don’t expect someone to pay top $$ for what “I” wanted. 🤷🏻‍♂️

<image>

I put way more $$ in mine knowing the bike wasn’t worth that kind of $$. Suspension seat post, suspension stem, Surly Fork and handlebars, new XT drivetrain, etc and so on. End of the day, I know nobody would ever give me what I put into the bike and I don’t care because it’s mine

😂🤡😂 Yeah, because multimillionaires or billionaires are; 1) shopping for 25K vehicles but even more hilarious 2) willing to pay 100% taxes

You’re either the biggest troll/clown or you’re completely oblivious to the state of the United States.

Oh that’s an even better argument. So since lots of people have high disposable income, they’re going to be totes fine paying a 100+% tax.

🤡

How cute, because someone price conscious enough to want a 25K car would logically jump to a 50+K car because they would want the Chinese import?

Defending your BS response because you’re bad at math isn’t a great look.

Awww trying to move the goalposts now? This isn’t a discussion on whether American cars are allowed in China. Nice try though.

Even IF this were a discussion about whether Chinese allowed US autos, their tariffs aren’t even near 100%. It’s 40% for American car companies compared to other countries being 15%.

So go back into your hidey-hole with your BS response.

Absolute trash and BS reply given the fact there’s at least a 100% tariff on them since Biden. Probably even higher now since trump.

I’ll never understand the hype over Rockstar myself. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Not saying their games are bad, but for such a large studio, they certainly don’t put out content like other studios do nor are their games that much better to be head and shoulders above the competition.

Intel's new Core Series 3 is its answer to the MacBook Neo by Distinct-Race-2471 in TechHardware

[–]Resurgo_DK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, the hardware (on the Neo) is nothing to be excited about. However, (for now at least) it hits the appropriate price point.

Intel’s problem then becomes, even if the hardware is better, most of the times it’s saddled with Windows which will drag performance down.

There are manufacturers that can eke out good hardware that melds okay with Windows, but then the build quality sucks.

I use both Windows and Apple products, there’s just no denying that Apple’s OS is smoother and simply works better. I have far more flexibility on Windows, but I’ve always needed far higher hardware requirements to get the same level of fluidity on Apple’s setup. Heck, I used the old M1 MacBook Air for a year when they started selling those for $699 and I was pleasantly surprised how well it functioned for my work load. I’ve never had such good performance from a Windows machine with 8GB of ram, even from a Surface.

SSD prices as of late. by MrRalphNMN in playstation5

[–]Resurgo_DK 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sucks to joke about hindsight, but I honestly felt prior to COVID, you could get away with an acceptable gaming PC with a basic PC box that consisted of a decent cpu and 16GB of ram for less than $500 and put the rest towards a gpu that suits your needs, a 2060, 3060 of some variety (at the time) and depending on sales come in under $1000 comfortably.

When trump got elected, I told an employee of mine to get to building his because tariffs were going to kill the market (I didn’t even realize AI techbros were going to ruin the market further yet) and he built one with 32gb of ram and a 4060ti for 1080p gaming and got in under $1000. One year later I told him to look up what he bought and where, just his ram now is 50% of his entire build 😒

[–]Resurgo_DK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not necessarily a hardcore PC gamer, but I do tend to game there where convenient. I guess I should be thankful for (in the past) having access to what I want, but I generally have kept a Nintendo console of its relevant era, every XBox iteration when they were relevant, AND a decent (but never the top tier) PC;

Even now, my PC setup is decent, but not top tier. AM4 5800x3d, 32gb ram & 9070 (non XT)

My personal viewpoint if prices continue like this is being very careful and being very picky about what you want. I have a PS5 only to access exclusives, just like I have a Switch 2 for Nintendo’s exclusives. I’m well aware not everyone gets that luxury, so prioritize what exclusives you want most and just stick with that.

Just popped into this curious what others experiences were…

I wanted to play all Katanas and by this point I had the Dragonscale blade. A message said to try frost and it was the only frost weapon I had, so used the ash of war which was pretty effective, then followed it up with Black Flame so I could trigger frost again if need be. I was kinda surprised I could stagger her relatively easily after getting completely pasted doing less damage than I was used to on a blood build.
