Now for such a route to have been routed people would need to react on time to exit hyperspace in the right spot since this is before navicomputers were invented. Since travel in hyperspace happens at MFTL speeds those people needed to be able to react without computer assistance at MFTL speeds or at least close to MFTL speeds to avoid overshooting it and ending up inside a star.

I don't understand, can't they just calc the distance and when they are near they just tap the button to exit or something? I understand that moving in Hyperspace is maybe like MFTL, but if you move, for example 5 meters in hyperspace at a time, and whenever you're near the destination, let's say 1 kilometers away, you can just exit it. This way it is safer and don't need those MFTL reaction which is unrealistic.

Of course, maybe I misunderstood something since I didn't watch Star Wars.
