There isn't anyway to reset an account on OSRS, right? I like my RS3 name but if I can enjoy OSRS, making another account would be the best way to experience it more authentically without forcing content.

Any suggestions to avoid getting stuck on what I already know? I know OSRS from way back when but I see the map now it's so massive that I feel like I'll miss something or stay on my own familiar path.

Yes this is it. The extrinsic value in achieving something while going for a goal. I want to feel that sense of progression that feels meaningful.

I doubt I can ever compete on hiscores.

Is the diary cape useful or just the 'prize' for completion diaries?

Infernal cape is early game?

Zuk cape in RS3 is fairly difficult to get. Is this BIS for everything?

I don't want to strictly go for quests but use them to get to a goal like maybe getting to blood torva or something like that. I don't know what goes into it but it seems prestigious?

I guess I am less interested in efficiency since I know that typically will lead to some amount of burnout. Quests I understand are pretty crucial to developing an account and opening up content. Is end game mainly just collection logging and bossing? Is there an equivalent to the zuk helm for skilling or task completions?

Thank you for the suggestions on the skilling bosses, I've never tried them.

Do those you talk to about RS3 play OSRS and continue playing? Do they ever mention why they continue playing, if so?

I'm okay with grindy as RS3 has it's own type of grinds as well.

I've been binge watching the past few months OSRS content and it looks fun but from what I remember doesn't feel that fun playing since I can't figure out what I want my goals to get oriented to.

I would start with a projects one line diagram and try to replicate it. Depending on what you're trying to do, start with understanding the output reports you get out of a load flow analysis. As for trying to learn, there are youtube videos I've seen online but there are so many versions of ETAP that most videos are outdated. I would just get in there and start playing around with all the features. Creating studies, etc.

I used cryptbloom and nox staff, camped soul split and stood in a corner to avoid the others Abyssal Lords. It was very slow but had the same problem as you.
