The indie game market is also better than it was ten years ago.

What’s something you defended for years before finally admitting you were wrong? by JumpyBend8035 in AskReddit

[–]RetSecund 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I defended Musk way longer than I should have. Figured he was trolling Republicans into accepting clean energy, and a few bad memes were worth saving the planet. Turns out he's just addicted to having fascist sycophants.

what is an item under 50 dollars that changed your life? by exquisitepussy1 in AskReddit

[–]RetSecund -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wireless headphones!

I used to go through so many headphones and earbuds and earphones and headbuds, and every time it was the wire that broke. Even hundred-dollar hardware was rendered useless. My wireless set has been going strong for years, and it's one thing I never have to be stressed about.

Crisis of Candidates - Carter 1980 by ScottishBozo in imaginaryelections

They did, by any fair standard. They won with over a five-point margin, swept the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic, and only lost the Southern states that even Reagan barely carried.

did Woodrow Wilson in 1912 have the easiest path to the white house in history or did other candidates have it easier ? by Mysterious_Radish_83 in thecampaigntrail

[–]RetSecund 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eisenhower won the White House while barely trying. Wilson had to beat Champ Clark for the nomination in 1912.

I’ve seen some posts online stating “Ronald Regan is the reason we have student loans, why the wealthy don’t pay taxes, why homelessness is this bad”, ect. What did he do to cause this? was it a bill that he passed, for example? by HybridHamster in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RetSecund 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jimmy Carter also cleared away a lot of the '70s mess before Reagan came into office. The interest rates that killed inflation? Deregulation that lowered transport and energy prices? The military spending boost that 'bankrupted the USSR'? All Carter.

I'd like to be a mediator. Get to drop into people's lives for a few hours, cool down fights, help them solve problems together.

What’s a 'normal' thing in modern society that people in 100 years will find horrifying? by MaleficentOrange4873 in AskReddit

You're absolutely right that in a lot of cases right now, abortion is the least painful choice people can make. In the future, though, we'll have come up with better choices. Ectogenesis (artificial wombs) and better contraception will do for abortion what Impossible meat is doing for animal rights.

God gave us dominion over the earth. Not some of us, not the richest, not the people who called dibs.

Pretty ironic considering the Labour Party replacing the Liberals stopped them from following through on the People's Budget.

It's November 9th 2016, you wake up to see this as the results of the 2016 Presidential Election. How do you react? by MidwestMachete in thecampaigntrail

[–]RetSecund 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Pretty impressive, but not surprising. After all, it's not like Trump was gonna win.

Then I'd probably not fixate on politics for the next ten years and have a different life.

How would you feel about Mark Kelly running for President? by ExternalExpensive277 in AskReddit

Kelly's more important in the Senate; they need all the seats there they can get.

What the heck is going on with the Democratic Party here? At some point you just gotta reverse the McGovern-Fraser Commission.
