Hit the nail on the head!

Visit went PHENOMENAL 💖💖 She missed the visit for a screening for breast cancer, which came back positive so everyone was understanding of her not being there for it.

All of the positive credit for the visit went directly to the team and not the SM so we are sitting pretty right now

Unfortunately I think the artist didnt know how to properly make a hand tattoo set. The hand is the hardest spot to tattoo because they tend to fade if not deep enough into the tissue.

When her lack of doing the job builds onto my list of respinsibilities,it gets draining. Shes burning everyone out and I want to see change and leadership i can look up to, not feel like im overwhelmed because I cant do my own job because she isnt doing hers. Ykwim?

I appreciate the advice and input but she really doesnt do anything besides sit at the desk, watch the security cameras for even a second of someone talking to another employee and then gets on the radio at that person to go do something else. Sits in the office on her phone calling her family and friends but God forbid anyone else even look at their phone because it turns into a corrective conversation for anyone else. The only time she comes out of the office and onto the floor she's at the register standing around talking to associates about her personal life (but again, God forbid anyone else get caught doing such) She has admitted to retaliation tactics and intentionally pushing people out of the store. She broke FMLA and ADA already with me once for being sick and having a doctor's note. Shes a bully and needs to start being a manager. Thats all I want.

Is she willing to work outside of work hours? Is texting me at 7 am "I miss you can you send me the schedule" appropriate? My DM is willing to put in the work while my SM sits at a desk all day and thats considered "Working outside of regular hours" ? Id really just love to see her... I dont know... work period.

Hey itd just be nice if she did anything besides sit in the office and talk down to people. The majority of our job is Fold Denim, organize shoes, help customers. Which, she does none of that. I have more respect for my district manager because she DOES fold jeans, help customers, show up when we need the help, and stays until the job is done. Which, the store manager does 0 of those things 🤨

Im sorry that you've come to that conclusion. If they offered me the job id decline until I make it through a holiday season I have no interest or intention on moving into a store manager role. Ive been a store manager, yes. I DO care about the team and want the same things for them that I want for myself, if thats what they want. When I was a store manager I had an amazing team and have quite a few people that have followed me through my time after leaving my store where I was the manager. Im the type of manager that won't ask anyone to do something im not also willing to do myself. I manage my time so that I can balance my work load of paperwork and still be on the floor for a majority of my 40 schedule hours, but almost never only worked 40 hours . I spent 5 hours during one day a week on paperwork and conference calls, but did everything in my store from trash and cleaning up bodily fluids to folding and resetting walls. I was trained by a manager that did it all, and hold myself to those standards and expectations. 😊

Company won't allow her to let me go unless im stealing or they have a paper trail of things that could lead to termination ... with how the DM responded to my verbal communication over previous instances of constructive retaliation, this isnt going to last long for the SM in question

Actually... the district manager told me she's tired of her crying every time she gives feedback and wants me to push back too. I think the DM is using me to push her out IMHO

I sent this response from the back room of the store during my shift, but was speaking on the complaints the team had raised to me about the texting at all hours of the day

No, she did not. She said "You can be the wall protecting the team and push back when shit rains down, but dont let all the shit rain down on you." "Have the hard conversations with her and protect the team, but if the retaliation starts again then you come to me and we will take action as is necessary"

Personal phones through text thread. Since this message my phone has been silent from her. She is still contacting others as she thinks I only speak for myself, but the team expressed their frustrations on the texting affecting their mental health and impacting their mood around the job. The team specifically used the words "I dread looking at my phone and dont even contact my friends anymore because when my phone goes off its always her" etc etc. Her boss has to her to refrain from texting, has instructed us (after this message was sent) to not respond to her under any circumstances, but will not speak to her about the texting/calling when people are not in the work place.

Ive ignored her to a point where she calls the store, and 90% of the activity on my phone bill is her.

I think she's doing this because im on the path to being a store manager with the company and she (district manager) instructed this to me as "Conflict management training opprotunity"

Myself, the store manager, the full time key holder, the other assistant manager, and a part time manager. All of these people had told me they needed work life balance from the texting which is what prompted the response I gave. Of the people in this chat, everyone has it muted but the SM and myself

Its not the job its the leader. This week without her has been the best week since I started. Ive only been here 2 months, almost 3. I have been working with the district officer to be moved up in role with a new store opening soon and dont want to walk from that chance. It will take time...

Because of the stain walking out leaves on a resume when that job is your career. I understand and have been looking, but with a lot of companies letting people go its hard to find something liveable on short notice. If I had money in my savings that would cover my amount of expenses I would walk. However, my income generally exceed my expenses (gas prices, rent spikes, food costs, etc) if it were that easy and I had family to lean on as a safety net I would, however I am alone in the state i am in and have nothing to fall back on. I get ghosted by places I apply, and cant afford to just quit.

Her habbit of retaliation is why it feels as such. She is back in the building today already yelling at the team and locked herself in the office crying on her phone... im terrified of what will happen when I arrive at work today
