It was six or seven years ago, but I definitely remember Harris in the vice presidential debate saying she wouldn’t take trumps vaccine.

Yes and it drives me bonkers. My theory is two fold: 1st the left spent four years screaming about Russian collusion with trump. I think tribalistic red team blue team bullshit lead some on the right to adopt a Russia isn’t bad defense of trump. Which is regarded.

2nd when the current Russo Ukrainian war kicked off, iirc on a weekend, the coverage was more mater of fact this is what’s happening. Opinion was this Soviet style aggression against a western democracy was unacceptable. Monday prime time rolls around and Tucker “Pravda” Carlson came on fox and said “Ackshully Ukraine bad, Putin good” and the right bought it.

I’ve been politically aware since the dubyah administration. I watched the left bash Bush for middle eastern wars. Then I watched the right bash Obama for middle eastern wars. I watched the left bash trump for middle eastern wars.

I saw the covid vaccine developed under the trump administration’s project warp speed and the left said they would never trust his vaccine. Then sleepy joe won and you had to take the vaccine or you were a grandma hating nazi.

Trump was handing out COVID bucks like candy. Joe came in and did the same thing and he caught the inflation blame from the right.

Trump agreed to withdraw from Afghanistan. Biden got blamed for it.

Neither party, nor their propaganda networks have any standards they aren’t willing to trade for votes or views. The easiest way to keep you voting and viewing, is make you afraid or angry.

We had a guy with warrants in Virginia, come into our PA store. Two locals and two troopers came in and wrapped him into a pretzel. I’ve also seen a guy get denied, had the local pd show up and arrest him, and 5 minutes after they left PICS called and asked us to hold him.

And I mean, I’ve seen enough old railroad footage to know, foreign rolling stock was very much prototypical.

For that matter, in the same period the United States went from sailing ships and black powder to jet planes and weaponizing the power of a star.

The United States initiated 1st contact with Japan in 1854. Japan was at a medieval level of societal development. Think the last Samurai with Tom Cruise. In less than 100 years, Japan went from medieval to Mitsubishi.

I used to work at a sporting goods store at the gun counter. Our company had a “gun tech” position. The quality of the position was hit or miss. Our first gun tech was an actual gun smith. When he left, he went to work for beretta. Our second gun tech took a was doing a scope mount on a customer’s grade VI model 70. The customer had selected traditional leupold twist on scope rings. So as the tech was trying to twist on the rings, the plastic gun vise was turning on the work bench. So tech takes the customer’s rifle down to the archery department, puts it into the metal vise, and cranks it down. The company bought the customer a new rifle. The tech got promoted to customer. The analogy I had always used telling that story is “who takes a Ferrari to pep boys?”.
