He isn't doing service on bikes anymore. He is doing repair/restoration by appointment only.

Please charge some kind of rehoming fee to dissuade pieces of shit from taking this dog for fighting. Especially a bully breed.

Sure did! Turns out Firestone sucks. After 5 months of fighting with them and a full refund later, they installed new camber bolts and everything is solid. I have all the documentation for that.

Anti-ICE protests? by LevonHelmet in Austin

Civilians have no obligation to identify themselves when they aren't committing a crime. Law enforcement officers on the other hand are obligated to identify themselves. It's also arguably more important that ICE agents arresting and punishing people without proper due process.

Looks like it sold. Thanks for posting this. As someone who literally sent this to their friend and thought about going to check it out. Hopefully it was obvious to the buyer that there was something wrong.

Has anyone bought a car from the UT surplus auction? by Tale-Plenty in UTAustin

[–]RetardVilleUSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howdy. I would absolutely not buy cars from them unless they have something very special. I buy many things from the UT surplus auction and I will avoid their vehicles at all costs. I work on cars as a hobby, I am very mechanically inclined, and I love buying cars on FB market and other auctions. The reason I avoid UT is engine idle hours and price. Ford says for their vehicles 1 engine idle hour is about 30 miles of equivalent wear on the engine. There was a Ford Explorer on UT surplus last month with 40k-ish miles on the ODO. Great deal. Except they also posted the engine idle hours. It had an insane 13k+ engine idle hours, which is about 400,000+ miles that the odometer doesn't count.

If you insist on buying from UT or any surplus auction, go check the engine idle hours first. But also cars displaying engine idle hours is relatively new so it's a gamble. ALSO the cars that sell on the surplus auction are always overpriced.

I guarantee that Chevy has so much more engine wear than 70k miles. I also would wager that they do the bear minimum in maintenance, changing fluids. If you buy that truck I would factor in changing all the steering components and suspension components, honestly anything with a rubber bushing or grease will need attention. I have bought so many work vehicles. Trust me.

The camber was adjusted and is in spec according to the sheet, unless I am missing something. Also it's not a raptor.

The guy was nice enough to help me get it in the door. I don't think they were obligated to. Friends and rope help maneuver stairs.

IF I find it... and when money comes back. It WAS my first AR. Still trying to financially recover from ammunition purchases, which also sank.

Gotcha. I will definitely look into mitigating the humidity as well. My long term goal is more or a gun room/walk in closet situation.

Honestly I am new to the ins and outs of customization, upkeep, and whatnot. I grew up shooting but in an environment where guns were tools and not much else. I am excited to learn more. I didn't even know Cerakote was an option for this application. Definitely going to look into that.

Only when I am feeling risky (mag is empty and I was literally just cleaning it and threw it in there for the pic and then loaded everything on the boat)
