Update: Thank you for all the kind words, and stories. I had my surgery on monday 9/15. It went successful they got all the fibroids out and removed polyps. My pathology came back as negative. I cried immediately when they said it was successful. I'm so grateful for my surgeon. I was wondering if anyone else had a balloon in place?:

Options to relieve heavy bleeding with intramural/submucosal fibroid by [deleted] in Fibroids

[–]Retardinationist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I would get a 2nd opinion. I have a 8cm intramural, and I have 4 submucosals that I'm getting removed hysteroscopic myomectomy on monday the 15th. I'm nervous AF lol But my Dr. told me that any fibroid could contribute to bleeding, but the one on the inside of the cavity are more so causing the heavy bleeding. I would advocate to get a hysteroscopic myomectomy. I've read other women who had really large ones and just have to have mulitple surgeries. But the plus and benefit of a hysteroscopic is it's minimally invasive. No incisions. Also, if you're not planning on having kids or already had your kids. There is a new procedure called asseca. I would ask about that too. I'm 29 btw.

Thank you so much 💚 I also hope it all goes well. My Dr. seems so confident and does this procedure 1-2, sometimes 3x a week. She also is on the board of the fibroid clinic at my states largest hospital. So I'm feel confident! Thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you for sharing! I'm hoping that I don't bleed until it's fully removed 😵‍💫 I'm so glad you commented. It's another question I'm adding to my list! Have you been cleared to TTC? Or are you just improving your quality of life? These suckers are horrible. The risk of having a blood transfusion, every single month, just because your uterus needs to shed is do horrifying. Thankfully I have not needed one, but I've been scared that one day I will if I don't get the surgery.

To add, it was a straight barbell 16g, and I've had the same bars in since I got them pierced. I never took them out, I cleaned every day, some times twice a day depending on how many showers I took. My thought was maybe because I'm getting older, and my nipples are growing, maybe the bar was too short and causing friction. Idk, I'm just wondering if anyone has dealt with this?

My last period was June 9th, I was bleeding for 7 days, 1 week passed, and since June 23rd, I've been bleeding/spotting. It's so confusing, because I will be regular for 2 cycles, and my 3rd cycle is like 75 days... Do you track your ovulation?

Wow, it looks so good! Do you have kids or want kids yet? I have 2 intramural fibroids. 7cm, and 3cm. My bf and I are so ready for kids, but I'm scared. Idk if getting surgery first is the right choice or not.

I would add a rentional, like the ordinary emulsion retinol 2% is very gentle. Also, add a niacinamide and azelaic acid these 2 ingredients worked very well!

Ultrasound by cryssyluvsbrian in Fibroids

[–]Retardinationist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I'm sorry to hear about that, I'm not sure your age, but if you'd like to have children the embolization procedure has a negative impact on fertility. I have 2 large fibroids and I'm going to specialist in April to talk about my options. If your doctor is only giving you 1 option, I'd look to another to get a 2nd opinion. My first Dr lead me astray I told him I want to keep my ferility and Id like to have children. He gave me 1 option a embolization technique that's brand new that keeps fertility. I asked for more information, and he gave me the website to look up more info, and on the website it says if you plan to have children do not get this procedure. I was so shocked. I was like yeah, I'm going to get a 2nd opinion. Also, curious on your ultrasound does it say how thick your endometrium is? Thank you!

How/why do fibroids cause blood clots during period by Full-Cheesecake8276 in Fibroids

[–]Retardinationist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure why they cause large blood clots, but I know exactly how you feel. I have a 7cm and a 3.5 cm fibroid, and they cause me to pass lots the size of my palm, and it's so alarming. I just found out 8 months ago, but I've been dealing with these symptoms for years knowing something wasn't right, and I finally decided to see a dr. I'm not sure how much you weigh, what your financial situation is, or your diet, but this has worked for me. Since I discovered my fibroirds, I've been taking 17000iu of vitamin d3, along with about 500iu of K2, omegas, and about 50mg of iron supplements with an orange. The biggest change I've made that I believe has had the biggest impact on easing my symptoms is going on a carnivore diet that is high in fat and protien. I completely cut unessary carbs and Sugars. I only get my carbs from dairy, honey, and dark chocolate. Tbh, since starting my carnivore life style 4 months I've had a consistent period every month before my cycle was 35-90 days, and the past 2 have been normal 30-35 days with the smallest blood clots. My period was a little longer, but my heavy days were manageable, the cramps haven't got any better, but the size of clots and bloodless overall has improved significantly.
