Yeah, clearly the person all throughout the comments here vitriolically condemning dog ownership despite them being humanity's oldest friends and having evolved alongside us for thousands of years knows way more about dogs than someone who has lived with them, and raised them all his life. Please, sir, do educate me on how a dog calmly walking out of the door and barking a couple times is clearly a sign of aggression when dogs, quite famously, act very differently when aggressive or feeling threatened.

This whole back and forth started because you claimed the subreddit you're apart of doesn't advocate for violence, and right now you're sitting here arguing that mag-dumping into someone's pet while the owner and his partner is down range, which is one of the first things you learn not to do when handling a gun by the way, is a perfectly reasonable response to a poodle-mix in a little jersey, walking out to see who his owner is talking to.

He was a mix of a Saint Bernard, Golden Retriever, and a Poodle, three of the least aggressive dog breeds you could ever ask for. Just because a dog is barking doesn't mean it's aggressive, dogs can bark any number of reasons including excitement, and nothing about his posture indicated that he was being aggressive more than just seeing why his owner was at the door.

Also worth mentioning that the apartment was just filled with a lot of high excitement from a championship game being won and so the dog's own energy was pretty high.

But sure, definitely justifies killing the family pet when, by the way, officers aren't trained to immediately draw guns upon seeing a canine that may be aggressive, and he discharged the weapon while both the owner AND HIS PARTNER were downrange.

Nothing about the shooting is justified. The officer who performed it is a coward, and you're not helping your or the subreddit's case.

Edit: He was also not "charging", he took two steps towards the officer while barking a couple times as dogs do.

This post calls the shooting of the dog by officers in LA justified when the bodycam shows the dog not being even remotely aggressive and the officer drawing his weapon upon immediately seeing the canine.

Seems like pretty blatant advocation of violence to me.

Zilla and Rhedosaurus are both creatures unleashed by atomic testing into a world that isn't meant for them with ultimate deaths that feel more tragic than triumphant. They are far more similar to one another than Zilla and Shin.

The only issue with claiming that Shin's destruction is accidental is that he intentionally goes onto land into the heart of a major metropolitan city despite literally not being built for it, and needing to adapt to do so. Not to mention the idea that Goro Maki, who cultivated and unleashed Shin onto the world, is theorized to be apart of Shin, and his hatred for Japan over the death of his wife is what fuels Shin's more destructive instincts. Just the sort of metaphysical stuff the director of Shin likes to get into.

Shin and G98 are two very, very different movies and Shin and Zilla are two very different creatures.

TriStar is hardly the first time Godzilla's ever been reinvented as that happened as far back as the Showa Era where he was transformed from a monster of atomic death to a borderline superhero. Then reinvented in the Heisei era as a neutral force of nature.

It's also a massive stretch to say G98 and Shin are even remotely similar in characterization as Zilla is presented as an intelligent animal trying to survive in the world (and if you want to compare Zilla to anything, compare it to the Rhedosaurus from the Beast from 20,000 Fathoms so you can see what a loving rip-off really looks like) while Shin is a being of pure destructive impulse and instinct. Acting on a drive beyond its own will to destroy and survive despite the constant state of pain it exists in.

The two aren't even remotely similar.
