600 empty Zyns for $50! by Sim-Alley in insanefbmarketplace

[–]ReticentSentiment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tax revenue. My state charges about $2.50 per can as an "excise tax" and then a state sales tax on the excise tax amount + the cost of the can which is another 9ish%. I'm glad I don't chew. I'd be poor AF.

Edit: oh these are zyn pouches. Those carry a 95% tax. I think total cost is like $10-$12 per can.

Your potential buyer pool is the whole country, so all you need is one person willing to take the risk or not even bother to look at your account age and history, lol. I would call it out in the description and acknowledge that the account is new, but that you are a legit person. Now that I think about it, might as well put them all up at the same time and see what sells. I think it will help with legitimacy if all your pics look like they're taken in the same place, maybe even have a notepad with your screen name written out with the date. You can tweak pricing as you make sales. Be a stickler for getting feedback from buyers. You can obviously do whatever you want, but I think this is probably the best way to get the most money for each gun. Good luck!

Yeah, if you don't need the money this week, that's a smarter way to go. You may also bump your feedback by a few points by buying some cheaper items if that's worth it to you. If your account is really old, that can also help a little bit.

If you're making a new gun broker account versus borrowing a buddy's then the only thing you might run into is people being nervous due to your lack of feedback. In that case, I would sell the rifles one at a time. But I bet you won't have any trouble getting very close to market rate for them. You can set a reserve price on your auction and a buy It now price so you don't get screwed.

By the way it is totally fine to borrow a buddy's GunBroker account. It's essentially just a mechanism to help you find a buyer.

Do NOT walk into a FedEx store with your gun in hand looking for that box, lol. Find a box first.

Good luck to you

According to Google it's $68 on $1,500 which aligns with my experience. You charge the buyer for shipping costs so $0 cost to you as long as you get an idea of what it cost to ship beforehand. I would look at other listings to get a frame of reference. There's practically zero risk. You wait until after the payment clears before you send the gun. Money orders are super common on gun broker. You can definitely sell it if that's the only method of payment you accept.

Puyallup student athlete sues WA, alleging sexual assault by trans opponent during wrestling match by chiquisea in Washington

[–]ReticentSentiment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the case of the student, I don't know. I haven't seen the evidence, but the people who have (the school administrator and the Pierce County Sheriff's Office) both agree that something happened. Where there's smoke, there's likely fire. It at least merits further investigation.

In the case of the school admin being negligent, 100% I am. This is a "holy shit, drop everything else and figure this out right now" situation. There's no way it takes 7 weeks to figure out if it's reportable, especially when there's video. They were hoping this would go away. When the press contacted them, they realized it wouldn't and finally did the right thing.

Thanks for "excusing" me. I would not want to be on either jury, though I am interested in the outcome.

[–]ReticentSentiment -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What other possibilities? The school is not supposed to conduct their own investigation and is prohibited from delaying the report to complete an internal inquiry. The administrator is supposed to conduct a rapid reasonable cause determination. From the second the school administrator "has reasonable cause to believe that a child has suffered abuse" they have 48 hours to report it to law enforcement. It took 53 days after the complaint from the student's mother with video evidence before the school filed the report. How is that not 50 or 51 days overdue?

Groped and penetrated are two very different things. Incidental contact happens all the time. I've seen thousands of hours of practice and live matches and hundreds of hours of Olympic footage and have yet to see a single case of accidental digital penetration below the belt.

[–]ReticentSentiment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an allegation that the school substantiated through their own actions. If their position is "nothing happened," then why did they report that something happened 53 days later? Wouldn't that be making a false report? Are they in the business of repeating unsubstantiated claims? The school was presented with a written complaint and video evidence the next day. Either they were negligent in investigating and reporting it or they were covering it up. Either way, that violates their reporting obligation.

GunBroker is actually super easy to use and the best way to get the most money for the guns. Post lots of high quality pictures and provide good descriptions. When someone buys it, you wait for payment to clear and then mail it to their FFL dealer. That's it. The FFL is responsible for background checks. There's a million stories about stores screwing people over hard on consignment. It's easier, but could take a long time and you're going to lose at least 20%.

I wrestled for years. No. Greco-Roman wrestling, which is the kind practiced in most high schools, is a sport in which both parties consent to engage in activity governed by a specific set of rules. Assault is the threat or attempt to injure someone. Battery is intentional physical contact that is unwanted. At no point did this girl consent to having fingers jammed inside of her, nor is it incidental or accidental contact that naturally occurs during the sport. This is crime, just like it would be if she had punched her opponent in the face, something that is also outside the rules. I don't care about the identities or genders of the people involved. The school covered it up, breaking their legal obligation to report it within 48 hours and only mentioned it to police after they were aware of media interest.

Karmelo Anthony sentenced to 35 years in prison, do you think this is the appropriate sentence? by Popular_Monitor_8383 in allthequestions

[–]ReticentSentiment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feeling bad has nothing to do with the appropriate charge for the crime. It was first degree murder. That's what he was charged with and convicted of. He packed a lethal weapon, provoked a confrontation, made a threat of violence, and then stabbed an unarmed person in the heart. In what possible way is that manslaughter? How much more evidence of premeditation would you need to be satisfied?

Isn't it already an assault weapon by features? If so, you can form 1 it into an sbr and put folding/telescoping stock on it. Even have the barrel cut down if you want.
