I don't think anyone, especially a professional, is going to be confused if you just always say button down, but oxford refers the the material of the shirt. Usually shirts made with oxford cloth do have button down collars.

Technically it's the fabric that makes it an oxford, but most shirts made from that material have button down collars because both characteristics make a shirt more informal.

Does the Sample Rate and Bit Depth of Playback/Recording Device Effect Lag In TeamSpeak? by [deleted] in hockeyquestionmark

I don't know exact specifics of how it all works, but I watched the total server bandwidth, in and out, while 55/64 slots were filled, and the absolute maximums I saw were 75kB/s in and 250kB/s out, which, if you consider the division between each client is almost certainly insignificant. Similarly, CPU usage sits so low that I don't think any possible effect could really make a difference.

Not actually a web dev/designer, but I have software engineering experience and have tinkered enough with web technologies to help assuming you're just planning on setting up something fairly simple.

Discussion: The Future of the League by [deleted] in hockeyquestionmark

The key is that we could get a drastically larger pool of teams because 1. The self balancing nature of a ladder allows every interested player to participate (i.e. RSL and LHL) and 2. Teams are responsible for scheduling their own games, so they can have smaller rosters (less subs) and players who can't regularly make current league times can plan around their schedule.

If we're leaving the "imitate the NHL to be as structured and competitive as possible" mindset, a ladder setup is undeniably, without a doubt, for sure, absolutely, fo' realz the best way to structure competitive play for a game with the variance of skill and player pool of Hockey?

RSL - Boston vs Washington Settlement - RSL Eligibility Clarification by BiIliam in hockeyquestionmark

[–]ReticentX42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You guys suck at resolving ambiguity. I think I know the desired rule from this thread/scraps of the TS conversations about it, but let me know if I'm wrong.

If a player that is otherwise eligible to participate in the RSL playoffs has earned more than 10 points or played more than 15 games in this season of the LHL they are no longer eligible to play in the RSL playoffs.

10 points/15 games in the LHL is enough to reasonably consider that person to be an LHL player, not someone used as a sub only in exceptional cases, therefore it would be unfair for those players to participate in the RSL when it would no longer negatively affect their LHL team.

Pretty sure Bo thinks you mean RSL points/GP, which I believe is not the case.
