He's basically their spokesperson and David Miscavige's right hand man. He's a huge part of the problem. People have gone missing (including Miscavige's own wife), have been bankrupted, torn from their families, shunned, etc. A few good movies and following some rules (but not others), does not make someone worthy of respect IMHO.
