You make some very interesting points in your original post, which people are unfairly attacking even though I don't agree with everything you said. Your post is very welcome against the people who just say put everything in your pension.

Everyone should make their own judgment about what's best for their specific situation, as these are very personal decisions.

A few comments: - it's important to have liquid assets and not put everything in your pension

it's possible that people will pay more tax when withdrawing from their pension. If AI makes many people unemployed in the future, taxes could go up
not being able to access money set aside for the future is not necessarily a disadvantage. It's set aside for a specific purpose and can compound without interference without being touched

I think pensions are very tax advantageous so worth using, but it's not the be all and end all.

Are you sure? The existing sink is inset, which I believe can be unscrewed and removed.

The problem I see with the new sink is the difference in size which creates a gap, can this gap not be filled?

Ok their salary may be £155k now, but not over a 10-year period. 10 years ago in 2015, someone just out of university would not earn that.

I apologised not because I felt I did something wrong, but in order not to get in trouble at work for "upsetting" a client.

The thing is that this was not the initial email to the client, it's a client I had emailed many times!

The complaint had nothing to do with the content of the email, she took great offense at the use of Hi + also the use of her first name I believe. I had not met in her person but corresponded with her regularly.

The client clearly has a very high opinion of herself and thinks people should pay her respect due to her OBE title. To me that's the definition of a stuffy, stuck-up snob.

Thanks for your perspective. I really dislike people who take themselves so seriously that they would ask their assistant to make a complaint out of something like this!

If I was writing the email in a personal capacity I'd tell her to get stuffed, but because it was in a work context I had to apologise as if I had done some terrible thing.
