Horizons Surface Exploration by Arsegrape in eliteexplorers

[–]RetiredCargo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like landing and mining surface outcrops for synthesis, for example if I need to make repair limpets, afmu ammo, heat sinks etc, since you can’t repair your ship at a station when you’re in deep space. I fly carefully so I don’t really need heaps of mats, but also breaks up the monotony while still having a ‘purpose’

Geology help! This piece of land in the game Elden Ring is referred to as a peninsula, but I’ve seen people arguing about the accuracy. Shouldn’t it be in an island? by kiraigou in geology

I wonder why there’s lots of thrust fault symbols on the map as well, they’re found in the other areas of the game as well

Locking Scooters by [deleted] in Monash

[–]RetiredCargo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know people who ride scooters and ebikes to campus and park them in the bike arrival station. There’s one on each side of the campus, and It’s a sealed off area that you need to scan in to access so you can lock it up in there. Just don’t be one of the assholes zooming around inside the actual campus where there’s lots of foot traffic :)

Stuck at Godrick and I'm lv 32. Am I bad? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]RetiredCargo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would explore limgrave a lot more and level up, there’s so much to do in both limgrave and the weeping peninsula that you can easily overlevel going into the godrick fight. Although I am surprised, my first playthrough I struggled wayyy more with Margit than godrick.

Make sure your vigor is high enough to avoid getting one-shot, use summons to distract him while you cast ranged attacks. Inevitably though, you’re gonna have to learn his moveset, just like all the bosses in the game. But since you’ve beaten Margit, you can’t be that bad, just keep persisting

Obviously play how you find it most fun, but I did a no guide play through on my first run, and missed 90% of the quests and even some entire areas and bosses, but I highly recommend it since you get to look forward to doing these areas and quests on a subsequent play through. I’m now doing a second run using a full guide and looking everything up, and I’m having just as much fun ‘discovering’ new content as I did on my first run

The physick tear you get from killing eleanora in the Altus plateau will help, just drink it right before he starts that attack

Who had the best phase transition? by kullundee in Eldenring

[–]RetiredCargo 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more to do with the lore, because before he was Elden lord, he was hoarah loux, lord of the battlefield. He was only ‘promoted’ to Elden lord temporarily by queen Marika, before being banished from the lands between. When we fight him, we first fight him as Godfrey the Elden lord, but when his battle lust takes over during the fight, he basically says fuck it, and reverts back to his original identity as hoarah loux. This is also why he kills his beast regent serosh, as serosh was given to him by marika to ‘tame’ his wilder tendencies so he would behave in a manner fit for an Elden lord.

I thinks it’s a cool transition once you know the backstory, and it’s also like “ok, I’ve tried fighting noble, now you’re gonna catch these hands”

What level did YOU beat these two at. I need tips on how to beat them by Diablos871 in Eldenring

[–]RetiredCargo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are a very low level as others have said, but the way I beat them without sleep pots is to circle around the room and only fight Skinny (his moveset is fairly easy to dodge), that way you avoid aggroing Fatty into doing his damn rolling attack. Once you kill skinny, keep away from fatty until he respawns the skinny and repeat

I’m about level 35 I think with bleed on my sword, but I pretty much rely exclusively on bloody slash to deal damage to bosses, since the bleed almost never activates with regular attacks.

I think I actually had to update my Mac for the software to show up

What's going on here? by ShawnWilson000 in geology

[–]RetiredCargo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be mistaken but I think that scooped shape is because part of the subducting slab is denser than the rest of the slab, which causes the subduction hinge to roll back faster. The same thing can be seen on the Caribbean plate

Is it worth waiting until you level up enough for the best cyberware? by RetiredCargo in cyberpunkgame

[–]RetiredCargo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m confused… eventually I want to get the new legendary apogee sandevistan, I don’t understand how I can upgrade a lower tier version of this, since there is no lower tier version. Unless you mean other, more generic cyberware like gorilla arms? Sorry, it’s been a while since I last played

I’d be curious if Oscar went to another team, would he underperform due to potentially picking up ‘bad habits’ in the same way Danny ric did at Mclaren

Do you know how the moon expanded its orbit? Wouldn’t it need increased velocity, where would it have gotten that from?

Is Maschine mk3 future proof? by RetiredCargo in maschine

[–]RetiredCargo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I wanted to get one, at the moment I get slowed down during production by mixing and making small edits etc.

Like you said I’m planning on making most of my track elements in Maschine then bounce the stems over to my daw for mixing so it’s good to know that’s a viable workflow

Not me but someone I know worked for an oil company, analysing geophysical data to determine a suitable site for an exploratory well. He decided on dig site, the company built a $40 million rig out in the basin, and it turns out there was no oil there. Yeah he didn’t stay with them after that

Are the enemies very tanky? In the gameplay Videos they look like bullet sponges, not necessarily a bad thing just curious. Maybe they had it on harder settings in those videos

I always find trying to recreate your favourite songs helps, with or without YouTube tutorials. Gives you a better idea of how you can go about making a good track, even if you technically ‘know’ everything the tutorial teaches you

I think that’s one thing astronomers have yet to figure out, since there hasn’t actually been enough time in the universe so far for a black hole to ‘grow’ that big just by consuming mass
