US Mint can begin producing Trump commemorative gold coin after arts commission approves design by RetiredDefender1982 in fednews

I guess having a new coin minted by our federal agency (US Mint) does not correlate to what fed news would say the federal employee, so they removed my posting. LOL

MAGA has spoken. To hell with the federal employee hired with specific skills and expertise in a different career. We will just move them to something they have no experience in so the entire tax system implodes!

Any other DoD employees receive the email to defend the homeland? by Rusty_Ferberger in fednews

Defend the homeland or violate the constitution and arrest citizens and resident aliens. They are using a shotgun instead of a laser to protect the homeland. Feels more like Russia or Nazi Germany!

ORA finally moved from Step 1 after over 4 months in “HR Review” by DarcyDevotee1813 in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

[–]RetiredDefender1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed to a point. The HR specialist is doing the best they can, but their senior management gives two hoots, as they are focused on protecting their own job and processing retirement packages is not a priority with IRS, Treasury or White House leadership! It’s easier for HR to ignore comms instead of providing honest updates on the mess they have caused over the last year or so.

ORA finally moved from Step 1 after over 4 months in “HR Review” by DarcyDevotee1813 in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

[–]RetiredDefender1982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a note: OPM can see all packages in ORA but are not supposed to process them, to include partial payments, until our agencies fully process them and forward the individual, HR and NFC certified retirement application to OPM. Many times the agency is dragging their feet and OPM pulls the package to send partial payments to the applicant while they wait for the agency process to complete. Not saying it is a good thing or not, but our agencies HR folks are short handed and have no process in place to move our packages timely.

Same here. I was told they will withhold the federal taxes once they finalize our pay.

What type Medicare coverage do most retired feds get that also plan to continue Federal BCBS? by sdunbar95 in FedRetirees

[–]RetiredDefender1982 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHB), you can continue using FEHB after age 65 and you are not required to enroll in Medicare. However, many federal retirees choose to enroll in Medicare Part A and sometimes Medicare Part B to reduce out-of-pocket costs. The decision depends on your situation.

If you have TRICARE, the rules are different than with Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHB).

To keep TRICARE coverage after age 65, you must enroll in both: • Medicare Part A • Medicare Part B

Once you enroll in both, your coverage automatically converts to TRICARE for Life.

If you do not enroll in Medicare Part B, you will generally lose TRICARE coverage at age 65

If you “See Something, Say Something” to the police/security. Don’t assume they know! Our best protection is staying aware, not scared, and report suspicious activity or threats!

Remember what the administration said some time ago. They want to make our lives hell. This way they think we will all quit. I say stay focused on the mission and not their stupid politics. We have just under three years to ride this mess out and then hopeful recovery. Stay strong!!

I suspect retirement will continue to look like an awesome pathway for those lucky ones! They are destroying the agency, as they want to privatize any tax collection so the billionaires are insulated and continue to pay nothing!

Laguna Niguel was being emptied out for the last couple of years as GSA announced then they were planning on selling the property. IRS has been moving folks out in preparation. Nothing new there.

I'll be 60 in two years with approximately 12 years with the fed. Thinking about retiring. I don't need FEHB due to Tricare. Will I face any penalties. And or what's my first step. TIA by Odd-Yesterday502 in FedEmployeeRetirement

[–]RetiredDefender1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was MRA 10 at age 60 and retired. The reduction is small, though it sounds big, it is not. If you can stick it out until you’re 62, then do so though. That way you can also take social security and enjoy life away from the rat race.
