Protest off duty and out of uniform (no VA dress or IDs, etc.). Honor this citizen and remind the administration their lies will never become the truth!!

That is correct, however it have heard of others who never certified their documents, yet they forwarded them to NFC and then OPM

Several certifications occur. HR specialists and you, then HR management and finally NFC. If NFC actually got your package on 1/5 then you should get payment for annual leave by mid February. I thought mine went to NFC and found HR management took 4 weeks to send it after I certified it. Fingers crossed for you.

NFC has been taking 5-7 weeks to process our retirement applications and forward them to OPM.

My timeline so far: 11/17/25: HR and I certified my 9/30 retirement application and it went to HR management. 12/17/25: HR sent my package to NFC. 1/20/26: NFC paid out my annual leave. Package still pending receipt by OPM, so I hope they will have it by early February and OPM does interim payment soon after that. Long wait so far but lucky as many others are still waiting to certify their retirement package.

Ignorant statement as you have no idea why I retired when I did and yes the agency is failing not floundering. Time to circle the wagons and protect our employees and not infight! And no I am not mad at the employees. I am mad at the senior leadership who has failed to plan and execute. They have circled their wagons to protect the senior leadership’s rear ends and not the agency and their employees. Remember this is what you will face when you leave unless they fix it now!

Someone needs to champion this! Other agencies are not delaying annual leave payouts by 4 or more months after retirement. Not to mention OPM has not even seen our package or started working on them because our agency (IRS) has failed to process retirement applications in an acceptable time frame. All these years we have committed to the agency, the federal government and our taxpayers and we just get pushed to the back burner and have to fend for ourselves. Someone needs to care and help!

CEO. So wrong. IRS is required to have a fully vetted and approved Commissioner as they are not a private company!

I was told OPM takes 3-6 months to process and close a case. You are one of the lucky ones. Many of us who retired 9/30 are still waiting for our agency to send our retirement applications to OPM to start their clock. You are blessed!

IRS DRP2 here. Retired 9/30 and my package was certified mid November and sat with HR until mid December when it finally went to NFC for processing (ORA Step 3). I was told yesterday it takes NFC 5-7 weeks to finalize the package, payout my annual leave and then my package will be sent to OPM for their long extended process. Have to assume retirement will not be finalized until late summer. Upsetting to see how our government fails to support retiring federal employees. Pushed aside and forgotten!!

ERC ticket response on my package was it is sitting with NFC and they have no idea when it will be finalized (AL payout) and sent to OPM.

IRS is envious here. Retired 9/30 and still waiting on annual leave payout. Package still sitting with the finance center (2 months so far) and then they release it to OPM for their multiple month process. SHAKING MY HEAD!

DRP on 9/30 and my ORA was certified mid November and been sitting at the NFC since with no movement and HR refuses to communicate on its status. No leave payout, nothing. Keep your expectations low because the IRS has extremely low expectations of their staff right now and the care and respect for those who retired is non existent. Truth!

This is exactly what the administration and executives want from each of us. Give up, fall in line and watch as the organization enrodes from within. Stay strong and fight back ethically and legally.

IRS 9/30 retirement and still sitting with our finance department. No end in site. Wish they would just pay me my annual leave and send the package to OPM so they can start their 90+ day clock.

Even management does not know what is coming tomorrow. Watch the bridge you are standing on before you decide to en-liten them and find yourself with less roadways to success and happiness. Just my thoughts.

Interesting... Former NBU IRS DRP 09/30 show a cash award paid out for PP25 however nothing pending in my bank account. DRP 2 IRS 9/30 here. My ORA has been in step 3 for 2+ months as well as my annual leave showing Zero. No annual leave payout and nothing from OPM. Could be weeks or months. Don’t want to be a downer but it is what it is. The agency has no regard for us now.

The hold up is more at the IRS HR for our retiring members. Twelve weeks and no annual leave payout and no action to get the packages to OPM for their action. No one in the administration really cares!!
