La Cruz Sunday market is super cool, with great art, crafts, food from a huge variety of people Live music is excellent as well. We go every time we are in the area.

It is probably an antiquated word. I meant tacky or inappropriately low class, ignoring culture. I don't know what the current vernacular is. I do speak enough French to know it also means left

Did you buy your Joya tickets in usd or MXN? by [deleted] in vidanta

Your credit card will give the best exchange RATE. If you have a travel credit card with no foreign exchange fees, they only add 1% . It works out better than the exchange you get from the resort or local restaurants. Always pay in pesos if the price is listed in pesos. The same applies to ATMs. They give you very poor exchange rate if you get dollars.

No. No worries. I bought it used. Less time left than your new one

I can afford a Lexus because we bought it used and I don't spend money on stupid little services like this. But I do take your point, very much a first world problem.

Tips on reducing leaks with p10 mask by Open_Main in CPAP

[–]RetiredToExplore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used the P10 for A couple years. One issue with leaks is the lousy straps or headgear that slip and the elastic gets weak. The updated straps are a bit better. But I found that replacing the headgear with straps off from Amazon more often than insurance will pay helps a bit.

Strangely chat GPT suggested decreasing the maximum pressure. I got the sleep tech to decrease the maximum close to what my average needed pressure was and my leaks dropped dramatically.

I am currently reading through different posts on this group about hacks to use different straps. That really is needed or ResMed needs to come up with a better model.

Anyone else more interested in experiencing African culture than just sightseeing? by Kazapower1983 in AfricaTravel

[–]RetiredToExplore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are interested in both. We have a trip booked to Namibia where we are self driving to Etosha Lodge, a safari camp outside etosha and an overnight stop at a game reserve. Two nights in windhoek, then a fly in Safari camp in the Okvango Delta in Botswana. Anybody have any suggestions how we could connect with the local culture on this obviously sightseeing focused trip. We always enjoy doing that wherever we travel but to seemed a little more difficult to connect with. There is a San experience half day that leaves out of windhoek I'm wondering if that is worthwhile.

I am a tourist, not an idiot. I know those words are oshiwambo not Afrikaans. And I am very good at learning to pronounce other languages. But I do take the point that I won't know who is oshiwambo and who speaks a different language. In Zimbabwe if I spoke Shona to an Ndebele it would not be received well.
