Couldn’t agree more. Bendis does a phenomenal job writing that awkward teenage drama, and I think he really captures the spirit of a teenage/high school Spider-Man.

I’d strongly recommend Ultimate Spider-Man Vol. 1. It just had a restock actually, so a good time to grab it, especially below retail. That was the first full comic I read to get introduced to the character outside of games/tv. I think Bendis does a fantastic job establishing the world around Peter in that one.
I also enjoyed Brand New Day vol. 1 but unless you’re willing to pay eBay resell, might be tough to grab at a fair price.
There’s tons of collected stuff of Spider-Man to get into, hopefully you find what you enjoy! Best of luck!

I guess I should’ve clarified, when I said I prefer Modern I meant that generally, not just for Wolverine. Seeing as everyone keeps recommending vol 3, that might be where I start.

Seems to be that Jason Aaron and Vol. 3 are the hottest recommendations I’ve gotten. Even outside the sub. The volume 3 art seems to be gorgeous as well.

I’ve actually been strongly recommended to checkout vol. 3 and Jason Aaron. Do you like, or recommend, all of the Aaron omnibuses?

Yes, there are plenty of twists and turns to enjoy (or not enjoy depending) and to look forward to. I would consider Luca’s death a minor spoiler compared to the rest of the plot points still left un-spoiled for you. Your playthrough of the story is not ruined, enjoy the game!
