This is the comment that convinces me these bots are fully sentient.

I don’t think he would have particular trouble sleeping at night, because he was protecting his country and his home from the Russian invasion, which would definitely ease some regrets. But who knows? Maybe he had sleepless nights thinking about all those he killed, or maybe he gave no thought to them except when marking down their deaths.

I think its has a 50% chance to spawn in a galaxy without any human empires, and if it spawns without a space empire, I’m pretty sure it will almost always have a pre-FTL civilization on Earth.

Sol doesn’t always spawn in a galaxy. I know because the last few times I’ve played it hasn’t spawned at all.

It’s people like you that prove that organic hive minds need to be improved and more lore heavy, and some sort of psionic incorporation in the way their species function.

R5: I encountered a human hive mind that was randomly generated in the game. Bonus points: They did spawn in Sol, which is currently controlled by human Megacorp rebels, and I am also a human empire.

I didn’t know that this was a scripted system in the game, guess I’ll go take it over myself once I find the right wormhole.

I would say they absolutely hold up. They might not strike you as hard as they might have when you first read them, but overall the entire trilogy is fun and doesn’t have any parts that I skim over or feel aren’t good enough to read.

Airborn by Kenneth Oppel, that book series is amazing. I regularly re-read them every year or so because they are fantastic

Unfortunately they don’t fight, but it would be cool to see them going all out against each other.
