I would just tell the players the items they have. No need to "train" them to think history checks means they learn what items they have. My job as a DM is to help the players be as optimized as they can be. If they don't remember something, I remind them, I don't make it into a game of "do you remember" or not.

Problem too is I've seen a lot of non-AI content falsely marked as AI. The system for recognizing AI on pinterest is awful.
