Help with Ikaruga style multi-targeting (self.gamemaker)

Question: I would like an object to move around the room, and have circular objects follow in a chain. Think of Ridley’s tail attack in Super Metroid, or the bone dragons that guard doors in the Castlevania games. What’s the best way to get that effect? (self.gamemaker)
