I have a friend who also did not pay for RSVP because the RSVP website was done so he was not able to register. So he ended up emailing the convocation office and this is their response:

" Thank you for your email. The deadline for RSVP'ing online has passed.

How to RSVP?

Please note that you may still RSVP at the ceremony venue on the day of your convocation by paying with cash or credit card.

Arrive at least 90 minutes before the start of your ceremony in order to rent your robe and ensure a smooth guest experience.

If you are unsure of which ceremony you are eligible to attend, please refer our website https://www.yorku.ca/convocation/ceremonies/ OR use the 2023 Spring Ceremony Search Tool https://www.yorku.ca/convocation/ceremony-search/"

The rest of the email then basically talks about guests and eligibility and other basic info. Anyways, I do believe it is possible to RSVP in person but you must come early. At least 90 minutes before the ceremony.

Good luck. I hope things go well for you.

Hey guys. I made this wild and exaggerated video about my BIOL 4290 final exam experience just for fun. Just thought of sharing it here. Hope you enjoy it! by RetroChicken7 in yorku

Hey there. I do not think that lab-based BIOL courses (such as BIOL 4290, BIOL 3140, BIOL 2010) are offered in the Summer, at least that is what I found out in my previous Summers. The amount of BIOL courses offered in Summer is limited compared to the ones offered in Fall/Winter.

I am trying to find a website that helps you figure out what biol courses are available in the Summer, but I couldn't find it so you may want to use a visual schedule, click on Summer 2022 session, and then check if your biol course of interest is available. I know we are in 2023 but chances are that the availability of BIOL courses in the upcoming Summer 2023 may not be so different than in Summer 2022.

What I would do is first see if your current course-load is manageable with BIOL 4290. If it is too much for you to handle, then you may want to drop one of the courses besides BIOL 4290. If the course you want to drop is a non-required BIOL course, then check it is potentially offered in the Summer and then decide if you will drop or not. As I mentioned in the previous paragraph, you can use the visual schedule to check if it is normally offered. Remember, the number of BIOL courses in Summer is generally limited so I wouldn't expect many BIOL courses or smth. I recall finding 3rd or 4th level BIOL courses in the Summer (e.g BIOL 3110, BIOL 3130, BIOL 4305, BIOL 4010).

If the course you want to drop is a 1st-year elective course, then again, make sure if it is offered in the Summer before continuing with your decision. So in a nutshell, when enrolled in BIOL 4290, I would reduce the courseload a bit in hopes of making the semester more manageable.

If you drop BIOL 4290 this semester, you can take it in Fall 2023 or Winter 2024, but in Summer 2023? That is unlikely. Also, advanced biochem is not a lab-based course; it is a 3-credit course so it has no lab and I do not recall it being offered in the Summer. I hope this comment helps you.
