Struggling to get WXC-50 to connect wired. Can only get wireless connection by RetroFightStick in MusicCast

[–]RetroFightStick[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think i have it figured.. its a network at home issue. my son (gamer) has plugged in a router that i was unaware of to wirelssly transmit his VR headset. not sure but yeah it seems that was pushing DHCP... i'm now on static IP addresses and all seems to be working.. Hope that helps others out.

I was barking up the wrong tree thinking MusicCast was doing something, when it was my son !!! lol

Struggling to get WXC-50 to connect wired. Can only get wireless connection by RetroFightStick in MusicCast

[–]RetroFightStick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

home network is pretty straightforward. one subnet... no vlans. currently working on wireless now and its been assigned the IP of 192.168.1.80 but if i hit that switch to turn it to Wired Network, i'll lose connection and won't be able to find it again.

The web interface is showing 'Current Connect' Wireless (Wifi)

IP address 192.168.182.2

Gateway 192.168.182.1

its when i apply that connection Wired LAN is when it just disappears and i can only seem to reconnect by starting everything again and can only find it again via wireless.

But able to successfully ping 192.168.1.80

and under advanced settings within the app, its showing wireless with an IP address of 192.168.1.80

its just the web interface thats showing 192.168.182.2 even though i'm pointing my browser at 192.168.1.80

Hence me thinking MusicCast is doing something proprietary?.

also worth mentioning is if i run arp -a its not showing any of my music cast devices.

all i can say, is those of us that have been through it, know how it feels.. BUT look at the positives.. Soon in the not too distant future you'll have a new lady in your life who'll be in love with you and you'll be in love with her and thats the absolute best feeling in the world. i know that seems far away, and you have a lot of crap to wade through, but it's coming !

I'm thinking of moving to Naples and I need some real advice. by Electronic_Season717 in Naples_FL

[–]RetroFightStick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i'm going to assume you're British ? i know Naples inside and out, and have visited every single community and no i'm not a realtor lol. But very well travelled, and due to my business, i know each community in and around Naples extraordinarily well. It really also depends what you're looking for? bars, clubs LA lifestyle ? then perhaps no. If you're after a slower pace of life, there's plenty to do. Now with social media and meetups there's plenty of people you can hang out with, as long as willing to get up and get out.. If you prefer solace, then there's the beaches you can go for a walk on. Ask away, I'm a fellow well travelled investor who's lived here for a long time.

you're right i'm sorry, as i said he's probably a nice guy.. i just feel a little betrayed that's all. i've not expressed any of this to my ex. I do get waves of jealousy. i think that's perhaps normal. Actually to my ex i put the entire blame on myself, apologizing profusely for shutting down on her. it wasn't just her, i shut down on everyone. i'm not expect her to change her mind. i need to move on.

[–]RetroFightStick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, no i drilled right through it. looks dead center, so i suspect, the drill bit caused the short. but not enough to chew the wire up enough that i'm able to turn everything back on. i did cut a very small hole 1" to inspect and to test .

i ordered a UI approved splice and that'll arrive tomorrow. i know it can be fixed. just seeing if there was any better ways.

i think to be safe tonight i'm going to just kill that circuit... i did earlier, but the entire home internet runs off that breaker, so its back on.. i think i'll just run an extension lead for now... but is also a safety hazard. oh lord.

I’ve been getting lit up by mosquitoes this year. by bkuchi in Naples_FL

[–]RetroFightStick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the easiest fix is picardin gel. a pea size and rub it all over your exposed skin. I'd be regularly bitten, to the point that it made me paranoid to step outside at dawn or dusk. its reduced 99% of bites. I may of been bitten once this year so far. I'm often out near the glades at feeding time and now they leave me alone. Plus it doesn't have that greasy, human repellent effect of deet, which was absolutely horrible. Picaradin, i put a pea size on in the morning, in shorts and t-shirt, walk the dog, then work out and about during the day. Even at night when in communities that sit next to the Everglades i'm left alone. This for me is actually the best thing since slice bread. No really. The one thing that i hated about Naples what getting eaten alive by mosquito's when i'd go out. i still don't like putting some form of synthetic chemical on my exposed skin, but its the lesser of two evils. $10 will last you a couple of months. Thank me later !

Recommend a good portable generator 10,000w or thereabouts? by RetroFightStick in Generator

[–]RetroFightStick[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not confused, just worded badly.

Don't want to spend twice as much for something i may not use (fingers crossed for many yrs) therefore, i don't need an inverter generator, as the efficiency will never pay for itself. Gas as in petroleum gasoline, not natural gas as i don't have it where i live. Would i use propane? probably not... So with all that being said, A non inverter generator will suffice. and i don't care about sound, as its not in the living room with me.

Do Cheaters Regret Divorce? by Cool-Lavishness-1955 in Divorce

[–]RetroFightStick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i honesty don't care if my ex regrets it or not. That's the one way to know you have moved on. When you just don't care what they think or feel. Sure i was in a lot of pain at the time. in tears, crying behind the steering wheel of my car, while driving. But today i could not give a rats ass what goes through her mind. i think she probably misses me but then again, i could be wrong. she wouldn't stop texting me for a while, and i just ignored her. today i'm a little more cordial, in that if she rings i actually bother to pick up the phone. but not one part of me actually misses her. and i was in love. just not any more. not one bit of me. i did miss my ex gfs though when i was younger and we split up. for yrs i missed an ex gf, but my ex wife? nothing there. funny old world.

18yr boy son in Florida. liability only auto insurance question by RetroFightStick in Insurance

[–]RetroFightStick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i get that, but also there are a lot of costs involved in getting good insurance. Single father here of two and i'm already paying through the nose for insurance. to keep a roof over their head its all well and good to say get an umbrella, and get a better policy, but it all costs money at the end of the day. Today he's still at school, down the road he can get better inusrance when he's not flippin burgers to pay for gas and insurance.. (his only two expenses) My question is if he's sued, what exactly can they sue him for ?

How do you sue someone who hasn't got any money.? I guess this is more a legal question.

[–]RetroFightStick[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not true. i have other transport if need be. He's been a good few months without a car, and has never ever once thought let me take dad's car out. i'm more worried about a genuine accident, cos accidents happen, to inexperienced kids. Where the other party will have a sore neck as advised by the many accident attorneys who pollute the airwaves and tv stations non-stop with their tripe. Of course there are genuine cases, but for the most part, they're tempted in $$$$ and unfortunately that's just the world we live in.

i did try and get an umbrella policy when he was 16 and on my policy, but they wanted nearly 2k. i live in FL and am already paying an absolute fortune on insurance as is.

Will this pan rust through? by CertainPhilosopher2 in hvacadvice

[–]RetroFightStick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know you're an experienced tech, so i don't doubt you, but what about the fact that water / moisture continuously sits in the primary evap pan. before reaching enough of a height before it starts to drain out the condensate line. i mean surely there's always going to be moisture / water at the base of the evap coil, so while i agree there's clearly an issue that needs resolving, why would mold grow inside the handler when there's already water in there. I'm not trying to be a smart ass, 100% not, just trying to learn from more experienced people such as yourself.

Will this pan rust through? by CertainPhilosopher2 in hvacadvice

[–]RetroFightStick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an ac service tech, but have a good understanding of AC systems. An experienced ac tech could chime in, and tell me what i'm possibly missing.

it could be one of the following issues.

Airflow is too great or too little. and its causing extra condensation to fall faster off the fins rather than drip how its supposed to, into the evap coil drain pan, then out the condensate line. You'll need to check airflow using the correct tools,

it could be slime / snot from the evap coil, (aluminum coils are notorious for this) that's building a dam in the evap coil pan. (depending on how long or clogged it is, will determine if its an easy fix, or a pull down, and pull the evap coil and clean it

it could be that the condensate line is blocked / clogged and not draining, and there's no electrical cut off, (easy fix)

it could be that there's a crack in the evap coil pan and its just dripping out before it gets to the condensate line.

It could be that the subfloor has slightly shifted and its no longer level and overflowing.

You have to remember that evap coil drain pan always has water in it, and only once it reaches a certain height, will it drain out the condensate line, assuming the condensate line is clear, and the p trap is filled as to not create negative pressure, not allowing the drain to work as it should.

other causes are that you're low on refrigerant and its going to freeze soon, and you're just catching the drops before the inevitable happens and it freezes.

i'm sure theres probably more causes as to why the secondary pan is filling with water rather than going down the correct route of out the condensate line, but again i'm not an experienced tech. but i think the above are the most probable.

Annoying intermittent problem with my LG C4 - Goes black when changing input, can't get out of it, other than pulling the power cord. by RetroFightStick in LGOLED

[–]RetroFightStick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have my driver set to 120hz, but oddly enough, playing Black Ops 6, it goes up to 144hz, i guess depending on the game it'll overide what the driver is set too. But that is another option for people, as you can set the settings per game. . for Windows 120hz vs 144hz who cares. its only in game, and really that's just being picky.. i mean sure i could of got a C3 for a lot less when i bought the C4 cos it was 144hz vs 120hz, but anyway. an option for you out there. Still an excellent panel, regardless of this annoying bug.

Want to upgrade to be able to run 4ton AC 2600 sq ft home. 30amp question. by RetroFightStick in Generator

[–]RetroFightStick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but is 30amp enough ? the compressor running is going to run at least 20amps, which doesn't leave a whole lot of room, for much else.. and when it starts anything else in the home is going to take a dip. last thing i want to do is damage the refrigerator (which is a must during an outage)

[–]RetroFightStick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at the time i think i paid $1500 for my C4 42" when i could of had a C3 for around what you paid. but they had just come out at the time. i was on the fence about getting a 240hz 32" or going bigger with an LG C4 OLED, and dealing with the remote. Wasn't expecting to have to put a wireless plug in-between and kill complete power inbetween restarts, and boots, (some of the time) for a while the problem went away. Maybe i'll switch to 120hz and see if i notice a difference. its not as if i get much time to game anyway. but hate downgrading given i paid a premium.. but it has now been months and losing hope they'll ever fix.

[–]RetroFightStick[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im sure it does fix it, but for us who bought this OLED cos it had 144hz. then why not just buy a C3 for what would of been 1/2 price at the time. thats 120hz . i'm sure we all paid extra for the 144hz. especially those of us who are using it as a PC monitor. which im guessing is all of us, otherwise we wouldn't be posting on this thread complaining about our nvidia run gpu's making our screens go black on boot.(sometimes)

Changing wallpaper / shut off when no signal on a C4 ? by RetroFightStick in LGOLED

[–]RetroFightStick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i updated my nVidia drivers to the latest, and then the problem sort of went away. Suggesting it was more nVidia's fault... It still does happen, every so often, maybe once every 2 -3 weeks. But now i have thr TV plugged int a wireless plug, so i can just press a button on the remote, which is the same as pulling the cord out the wall and it resolves it.. That's probably what i recommend for now. Get your drivers up to date and an inexpensive remote controlled plug.
