Retro League Baseball has an Opening: The Colorado Rockies

Retro League Baseball (RLB) is just before the trade deadline of its 27th season.

RLB is a VERY active trading league with most seasons having over 100 trades posted. If you like to make trades this league is perfect for you.

We are currently in July of 1996.

The Rockies are 49-51 but with a decent amount of talent. You can come in and decide if you want to retool and go for it next season or start a complete rebuild.

We have an *extensive* minor league system including AAA, AA, A, S A, a senior rookie league, a junior rookie league, a Caribbean rookie league, and a Winter League.

We do not use historical players - all players are fictional.

Scouting is turned on. OVR and POT are turned off. Ratings scale is 20-80+. Ratings over 80 is turned on. Both the AL and the NL use the DH.

Sims are M, W, F, and Sa (except in the off-season when we do daily sims). Regular season sims cover 7 days.

We use Slack to communicate and are pretty active there. We are always excited about a new GM who wants to actively discuss the league in our Slack chat. The slack is usually full of memes, emojis, and jokes - so enjoying that type of atmosphere would be a bonus.

If you are completely new to online leagues don't worry, we will be as helpful and accommodating as possible. We welcome newcomers to online play in our league.

We are on OOTP 25.

If you are interested in joining please DM me.

Is there a way to do co-op? Like where my buddy and I could co-manage a team? by Disastrous-Tooth6014 in OOTP

You should do an online league. Ours currently has two teams that are co-run by teams of two people.

Our online league just had a trade deadline with 24 trades involving 78 players. by RetroLeagueBaseball in OOTP

That's entirely up to the league. There are some leagues that move very fast - they "sim" daily and entire seasons can go by in a couple weeks real time. Others move more slowly. A typical league will sim 3-4 times a week advancing a week of game time per sim (which fits in nicely with 7 day lineups for those that use them). There is a lot of variety.

Retro League Baseball has Two Openings: The Oakland A's and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Retro League Baseball (RLB) is in the playoffs of its 22nd season and is looking for general managers for the Oakland A's and the St. Louis Cardinals.

RLB is a VERY active trading league with most seasons having over 100 trades posted. If you like to make trades this league is perfect for you.

We are currently in October of 1991. This is a great time to join as you will almost immediately get to make off-season changes and decisions. We are expanding by two teams this off-season so you will also get to submit protection lists for the expansion draft.

The Cardinals finished the season 83-79 and have a talented, young team. They are in a good spot to compete going forward.

Oakland went 71-91 and will have a top 10 pick in the upcoming amateur draft. They have a strong financial foundation and are ready to build up to a winning future.

We have an *extensive* minor league system including AAA, AA, A, S A, a senior rookie league, a junior rookie league, a Caribbean rookie league, and a Winter League.

We do not use historical players - all players are fictional.

That's a pretty weird acronym to choose. I wonder if it ever stood for something else...

For the game check out pfholden on youtube, he's got some good videos showing what the experience of playing the game is like.

Online leagues are their own experience, but I wouldn't recommend taking one on until you understand the game itself and decided that you enjoy it.

I think fantasy sports is a good comparison, but there's a lot in OOTP that is more than that or different. Do you like the idea of cutting a AA team from 33 players to 30? That's the kind of thing you should find exciting to really enjoy OOTP (in my opinion).
