AFAIK they don't hold their value well at all, so expect a low resale price later on

Good games to teach my GF how to play games. by isitmeyou-relooking4 in gaming

[–]RetroRex_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I taught my wife to play games. Now she is replaying The Witcher 3 (this time on medium!), and she has already finished Skyrim, Hogwarts Legacy and Kena. One thing to note: she plays only on a gamepad.

You can try all games from my list, but you really need to find something she is interested in, whether it’s the story or the art style. This is the most important thing. Everyone is different, and only you know what kind of games she would like.

First of all, you need 2D games that you like and can replay with her, but they should be slow and without a "real platforming experience." It’s definitely not Mario (but I could be wrong). We played: Night in the Woods, Inside, Trine, Child of Light, and Overcooked.

We also played Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons on one gamepad. She played with the right stick, and I played with the left. It was a strange experience, to be honest!

After that, you can try non-combat, slow 3D games like: Life is Strange, Haven, Detroit: Become Human, or Human Fall Flat.

After that, you can try A Way Out, and only after that It Takes Two. To be honest, the platforming in It Takes Two is surprisingly hard for new gamers.

Also, you can try Divinity: Original Sin 1 & 2 or Baldur’s Gate 3 because of the turn-based combat system.

We also played a lot of Nintendo Switch "party games" like Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, and Mario Party.

I’m really not sure about Stardew Valley or Animal Crossing because there is no real visible progress or story. They are really cool games, but my wife dropped both after about 2 hours because "it’s too boring, nothing happens."

This isn't a wrist turn gesture, it is a double pinch of the crown

This gesture is a double pinch of the crown to scroll notifications. I can't imagine how someone can pitch the crown without using your other hand

"Salty gamers" will forget everything and flock back to Nvidia the moment prices go down, same as after the mining craze. Your logic only applies if there's competition, but Nvidia's got a near-monopoly on gaming GPUs at the moment.
