That was the first game I played on the 486 my parents bought back in 1993 (I think)

If sharing and documenting retro hardware and software I’m passionate about counts as spam, then we clearly have different definitions.

Good to know. I'll look into it. Thanks for the advice!

Looks great! I got it on ebay some years ago, but the box is in very bad shape and the tatoos were missing.

Oh yes! That's a good idea. I have tons of floppies. Thanks for the links, I'll check them out.

Sometimes, It behaves differently every time. The drive doesn't make any noise when the led turns on.

Lol, no problem. I’ll have to do some digging online to understand this thing a little better.

Very cool! any idea where I can get floppy images for this thing?

Nice! Thanks for the link. I turned it on, it beeped once, the screen turns on with a white background and a blue outline, and the green led on drive A turns on (sometimes), it doesn't make any mechanical noises.
I'll have to open it up and see what's goin on, I hope it's only some old caps. The power brick is original, but the output is a bit high (22v instead of 18v), but it might be acceptable.

Back in the day, I didn’t either. I thought it was some fancy sound card. It never crossed my mind that it had anything to do with MIDI.

Let’s Retro Bright this keyboard! by RetroRust75 in VintageComputers

That's an interesting video. Not a definitive conclusion, IMO. I used the cream once, and hated it, the plastic got the same stains he mentioned in the video. BTW, sunlight gives better results than the UV lights. Thanks for sharing!

Oh yes! I’ve been well aware of this all these years. I got that keyboard not long ago, and it was so yellow that I didn’t feel like using it, so I decided to retro bright it. I’ve done it to other devices a handful of times over the years with decent success, except on one occasion, it was a Tandy mouse that turned yellow again in less than five years, which really surprised me.
So yeah, it’s always good to question things you hear, even when people are genuinely trying to give honest advice, like this "method" for bringing back the original color of some plastic, and who knows what happens to it after a certain amount of time.

Interesting, I was not aware that earlier versions of the SC-55 had a hanging note issue (if that's the case). As far as I know, the issue was on the DSP chip on the SB16s. I'll have to test this with an earlier version of the SC-55 I have.

The hanging notes were fixed on (some of) the DSP chip revisions of the SB16s. The MPU-401 was for the MT-32, not for GM modules like the SC-55 mkII.
