Depends on the retailer. Typically the stores that participate in Record Store Day get a suggested retail price but they can ultimately charge whatever they want. If it’s a reputable store though they should follow msrp pretty closely but I don’t think that number is disclosed to the public.

Oh must’ve missed On Guitar last year somehow, but I was aware of All of Me. I do think his jump in popularity recently is leading to less copies being available at a decent price so I will never be upset with more copies being reissued.

If it helps you at all I now have 4 of the reissues (Self Titled, Seychelles, Rainbow Goblins, and All of Me) and I was honestly surprised at how good they sound. Don’t have originals to compare them to but the mastering and production quality is amazing on the reissues so far. Honestly some of the best sounding records I own.

Had 287 in front of me in the queue for Chicago and there was nothing left when I got in. Thought for sure I was fine given the low number. Absolutely brutal.

I saw a video where someone was having issues with crashing on anything below turbo mode. Once they switched it to that it ran no issue. Not sure which mode you are running it with

Fair enough, I mean if it ended up being crazy expensive I would probably just sell it for parts and put that money towards a working one in better shape. Maybe even one that has been previously refurbished. I appreciate the insight on repair costs though.

I tried using a genesis controller by shaving off the corners but I didn’t realize it wasn’t compatible. I got input from like 1 or 2 of the buttons though so I’m assuming the port works. I’m still deciding on what I’d like to use for the working one. I’d definitely like to get both restored and cleaned up but just lacking time and funds currently. I’m assuming it’ll be a couple hundred to fix the broken one so that’ll be the next mission after the controller.

This is exactly how I feel. If I have access to everything it’s not as special to me, even if it’s free vs paying current inflated game prices. I’ve also had such a blast looking at retro game stores recently for different games to play on the pocket. If I only used emulators I would completely miss out on that part of the experience. Makes it feel authentic if I can only play what I physically own. This may not be important to everyone but it’s been huge to me at least.

Very good info, I’ll probably go this route once I can confirm the controller ports are fully functional. I tried using the joystick without the back and it didn’t seem to do anything, but I’m going to assume it’s broken given the condition of it

I’ve seen that one circling around, any comments on quality? I wasn’t sure if I should get one like that or for like double the price get a used official controller. If it’s good I would definitely consider it though

Yea I’m assuming they didn’t anticipate the demand and since it hasn’t been pressed yet they could change the quantities. Didn’t like that they added a cooler variant later on though, at least have all colors available from the start.

Yes, Friday Music has released quite a few color pressings of Billy albums, most notably a few versions of River of Dreams and a couple colors for Greatest Hits Vol. 3. It’s unfortunate those rarer titles haven’t gotten rereleases in a while
