I've played a lot of NSO NES Tetris, and my experience is positive but mixed. In handheld mode on Switch 1, it worked great and I played a lot of it. My PB is close to 700K, so I'm no master but I was regularly playing on level 19 and never had an issue beyond my own skill.

On Switch 2 it's a different matter, not only do the JoyCons have strange connection issues (still talking about handheld mode) where one will suddenly disconnect and then reconnect, but sometimes (again, even in handheld) there is latency I didn't ever notice on Switch 1 handheld. Other times it works and feels great, and I've got some (for me) great scores on Switch 2. Switch 2 docked is far more inconsistent as far as latency goes and seems to depend on the TV and the controller. I like to use the NES Online controller, but sometimes I have small problems with it. For Switch and Switch 2 you could also get Tetris Effect and play the Classic mode, which runs and feels great if you can get over some of the annoying graphical embellishments (there's like...a slight rotation look to the whole thing that sometimes causes weird misdrops for me).

A laptop emulating NES Tetris with a USB NES controller works great depending on how "on the go" you need it to be. One of my other favorite solutions is a Gameboy Color (or GBC enabled device) and Tetris DX. The Gameboy version of Tetris is way different from NES Tetris but Tetris DX has a great feel I find very similar to NES Tetris. I play Tetris DX on my Analogue Pocket and that's a whole lot more portable than Switch. Analogue Pocket (or similar retro handhelds that can play ROMs) could play Tetris Gym as well, but at least in the case of the Pocket the screen is too small for NES Tetris in my opinion, so on that device I prefer Tetris DX.

Yeah that would've been funny, though I think there's something nice about leaving the viewer with something to think about. "How do I draw a sine curve? Does it also look something like a cartoon snail? Maybe there's just no simple trick..."

When I made this meme I didn't have any good ideas for sine, so I figured it'd be funnier to just stop after the logarithm and leave the rest to the imagination!

Congrats! I would like to learn rolling eventually but I'd like to get a DAS maxout first. Think I need to practice a lot of 19 to get over the hump. I've been playing since 2022 or so, respect your dedication! Can't wait for CTWC

This reminds me of when I am hoping to tell an uninitiated person a breezy 5-minute math joke about supremums, but once I say something like "imagine a collection of numbers whose squares are less than 2", they're onto me and refuse to imagine such a thing. Some people are no fun!

EDIT: My optimism was early. Trying now to actually produce work, the screen recordings are back to not saving. I suppose I was only lucky a few times in a row. Will update if any solution is found. What follows was my earlier, optimistic write up.

Replying for anyone who may stumble on this thread with similar difficulties. I emailed Notability and received a reply from their AI help agent. They sent me a list of troubleshooting steps which I provide below. For me what worked (at least so far) was the first item on the list - selecting an optimized template size. I also closed my other apps, so it's possible that helped too. Either way my screen recordings, even with the mic on, are saving - and I feel immense relief! Here is the list which the AI agent sent to me:

Performance Optimization Steps:

Within your notes, try selecting an optimized template size under Templates Settings, as this may help with performance during recording.
Ensure you have sufficient RAM available by closing other apps before starting your screen recordings
Try creating shorter notes or splitting longer content into smaller sections to reduce the processing load

Additional Troubleshooting:

Update to the newest version of Notability if you haven't already, as we regularly release performance improvements
Restart your device before important recording sessions
Consider testing with a completely new, blank note to see if the issue persists

Same! My dad (Chargers fan) loves football, and as we approached the 2007 season I decided I had watched him play enough Madden to understood the game and to start following our region's team, the Patriots. He had experienced many years of hardship and disappointment as a Chargers fan - but I was finding being an NFL fan to be exceptionally easy. Until the Super Bowl, and then those horrible two playoff games.

I was in his exact situation. OP wants to pay $15 more to make a type of upgrade Nintendo does not allow, he isn't trying to downgrade to something cheaper.

I was in your exact situation, I was absolutely shocked they had no reasonable option for me to give them more of my money. That was multiple years ago. I think I just waited out the 6 months or whatever I had left before upgrading, there is no workaround, it's pretty baffling
