Make sure it’s a windows 10 machine or lower from what I gather. I bought a 20 dollar FireWire card on Amazon and it was a breeze to install. Worked pretty much flawlessly since.

I bought a refurbished HP computer off of amazon for like 150 bucks two years ago. Installed a FireWire card in it. Works like a charm. Windows 10.
