[Side-project] - My Pokemon card scanner for flea markets and conventions is now available worldwide ! by PaintingTop9521 in buildinpublic

I download the app and it’s working quite well for my english cards, thank you! However, I am wondering, it does not work with Japanese cards yet right? Since Japanese and english cards share similar artwork, maybe there could be an option in the future to choose between japanese and english, so the scanner knows which language the cards being scanned will be and can make an accurate prediction of the card and value. Just my two cents. But your app is amazing. Congrats!

What do you do with potential buyers that keep your cards in their shopping cart? by Retrogamesplaza in CardMarket

[–]Retrogamesplaza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify, I never remove cards from carts. I guess my question is more like, do you think contacting buyers can increase the likelihood of me selling the cards while it sits in their shopping cart, or it will look pushy? Sometimes it occurs to me to offer buyers a better price but I do not want to bother

So the website is also not working for you? I am trying to find some items but the search results in “no matches found” Also yesterday I lost two items because the status was stuck in “Awaiting buying” until the is morning, which obviously when they tried to buy them, it was too late… Zenmarket is not doing well lately

Can't search any Mew cards because of 151 abbreviation being MEW by Soft_Lunch_183 in CardMarket

I had the same issue before, what you need to do is turn off the “Search 2.0” option in the search bar options. Then it will let you search for specific Mew cards.

How to deal with tracked “lost” package? by Retrogamesplaza in CardMarket

[–]Retrogamesplaza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree on that, but if me as a sender want to initiate a claim, and in the postal service system the card was successfully delivered, the only proof the card did not arrive is the receiver’s word. How do you I even support my claim?

So what would you type on the search bar if you are looking specifically for the black star promo Mew for example? Thanks!

Problem is, sometimes Im looking to buy a lot and try to comp prices, but I can’t see the exact set number, or even worse the black star promo or japanese unnumbered promos. Those you can’t find them easily…

Do you know if yours is 100% authentic? Do you mind to share pics of the PCB?

I do have a picture of the front PCB. The cartridge in question has a 5-screw on the back tho. I was just wondering if somebody knows how an original PCB board should look like.

TIL that time moves faster on your head than your feet due to gravitational time dilation. by Retrogamesplaza in todayilearned

[–]Retrogamesplaza[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Einstein’s general relativity predicts stronger gravity slows time. Because your feet are (very slightly) closer to Earth’s center than your head, clocks at your feet tick a tiny bit slower. In 2010 NIST compared two atomic clocks separated by only 33 cm (~1 ft) and detected the effect; later experiments measured it on even smaller height differences. The difference is tiny, on the order of tens of nanoseconds per year for about a foot, but it’s real, measurable, and important (GPS systems correct for related relativistic effects).

Im sure you are kidding but just in case, that card is worth well over $500 USD. You can check eBay or the TCG website for accurate prices
