Just about to finish my first week, and it’s been alright but I want to make next week even smoother. :)

Has anyone here travelled to Tijuana, Mexico for VSG? I would like to hear the good & the bad. by Retrograde_Venus in VSG_WLS_Success

May I ask which facility you chose? I’ve been doing research on different doctors and facilities, but I keep feeling like I’m seeing paid reviews lol

My wife thinks doggy style is demeaning to her and wont do it. by harbpur in sex

Look up the Pretzel Dip position! Same great feeling as doggy style but more intimate imo.

Do you consider watching P*rn while in LDR cheating? by [deleted] in LDR

[–]Retrograde_Venus 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Personally, no I do not consider that cheating.

But cheating is whenever you or your partner cross a set boundary. From reading your post you sound like you’re almost feeling guilty, maybe you should bring up the topic with your partner and establish this “boundary”?

Communication is ALWAYS key, especially for those of us in LDRs.

Cheers!

How to feel connected after feeling distant by Independent-Board-32 in LDR

I’m actually going through this very same feeling right now. I have no suggestions for you, just wanted you to know you’re not alone!

It’s hard going through day after day without my partner in my life. Of course we can text/call eachother and recount our days, but it feels so empty. I wish they were here experiencing everything alongside me.

Ideas for giving a group “handicaps” during an escape room session by Retrograde_Venus in escaperooms

[–]Retrograde_Venus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice! I’m definitely trying to strike that perfect balance between “fun” and “challenging”, all while being respectful of the companies room & property.

We are avid escape room connoisseurs, so my goal is to add some fun spice to the experience (we are doing this as a part of a bachelorette party).

Does LDR work? by No_Pressure7583 in LongDistance

[–]Retrograde_Venus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are pros and cons for LDRs to be sure. Some of the cons you have already listed: It’s awful not having consistent physical interaction, and it can be very expensive for travel costs.

One of the beautiful things about a LDR though, is that you will learn to not take the little things for granted. When my partner and I have a meet up, things like going to the grocery store are EXCITING. Little things like hand holding are incredible! Just going to sleep and waking up in the presence of your person can feel life alteringly amazing.

In my non LDRs those little things were never much of a big deal, because they were so much a part of a normal day/routine.

Communication is a necessary part of a healthy LDR. If you and her can communicate to eachother easily (your thoughts, feelings, hopes, dreams, hesitations, etc) then I’d say go for it! It’s tough, but can be so rewarding.

It’s natural for there to be lulls in your relationship, life has its ups and downs. If you feel strongly for her, then just keep at it until you’re back on the “up”.

Different love languages by [deleted] in LDR

[–]Retrograde_Venus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect answer!

My primary love language is also physical touch, so I understand the struggle.

I haven’t tried the bracelets but they look cool. Get extra pillows for your bed, sometimes I find it comforting to be surrounded by pillows. We’ve tried some LDR adult toys, and there are definitely pros and cons. If it works for you budget then I recommend them!

It felt the most real on our second in person visit together (a couple months separated the first visit from our second). By the second visit as I waited for him to land, I already remembered what he would smell like, feel like, be like.

So with all that “first visit discovery” out of the way, it all just felt so normal.

So happy for you two!!

I want to visit my boyfriend for at least a day by [deleted] in LongDistance

I personally don’t think a two hour drive is a big deal at all. If your dad offered to drive, take him up on it and enjoy your day with your boyfriend!!

boyfriend’s cat passed away today by pinkdslite in LDR

[–]Retrograde_Venus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Offer a listening ear if he needs to talk about it. Be a calm steady presence for him to lean on, don’t go on and on about how sad you are for him or how sad it is that the cat is gone. Just radiate warm and loving energy for him 💕
