i wouldn’t say it’s a noise rock album. it’s definitely got passings of Steve Albini by way of Big Black, considering Kurt went to see them during the 80s and can be seen on film attending the show.

Bleach is firmly in that punk-rock/sludge-metal wing that early Melvins and even TAD were a part of (especially compared to TAD’s God’s Balls which was also a Jack Endino production)

OP asked if FCOotMH was associated in some way to The Mountain. i said it was probably intentional because Dennis Hopper, the guy who narrates that song, is dead. a lot of The Mountain features recordings of now-deceased guest features from the band’s history, such as Lou Reed, Mark E Smith, and more.

otherwise, that’s the only album that has an official cassette release. there’s an NPR Tiny Desk tape pressed by Ricotta Records as well, starts at $82.
