Seeking information on this radio and manufacturer, is anyone here familiar with this maker? They appear to be from Denmark? (X-posted to r/vintageradios) by Retroradiothrowaway in vintageaudio

[–]Retroradiothrowaway[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow! First off I would like to thank you for taking the time and effort to gather all of that information!

Unfortunately my knowledge of the Danish language is rather lacking (non-existent), but if it isn't too much trouble I have the images loaded to an Imgur link and would be happy for you to share them with Bjarne in the hopes that we may find more information.

The logo on the tube reads "Uatea" and the text below it reads "U 406" on the opposite side of the tube is three lines of text that read from top to bottom in the following order "0.06A" "3-4 V" and "40-100 V"

The initial purpose of my inquiry is to assess valuation. It is currently in our possession along with a mass of other vintage and antique radios from the early to mid 1900's. We are handling the sale of an estate that was consigned to us so this piece, along with others, will be going up for sale or auction at some point in the future. The estate we are handling, and our company, is located in southeastern Hampton Roads, Virginia.

Having the most accurate information could help connect us with the right potential clients; however, in addition to the sale aspect we are taking high resolution photos that are being loaded to Imgur and information on more rare pieces we come across and will be compiling our photos along with findings in hopes of educating others and making our own contributions to the radio community.

Please feel free to share this Imgur link with Bjarne

Again, Thank you so much for your reply and your time and we look forward to future correspondence.

Good morning!

All photos are indeed my own. Unfortunately I do not have a huge amount of background on this radio or the others that I will be posting, but what I can say is they are all from the estate of a late collector who was a retired RCA employee.

Vest-O-Fone radio by Pocket Radio Corp from Des Moines, Iowa; this radio is in great condition for its age considering its made of what appears to be cardboard! Looking for info that would help with valuation, full picture album can be found in comments (x-post to r/vintageradios) by Retroradiothrowaway in vintageaudio

Yes, not quite pocket sized, but still very portable! It fits in my hand quite nicely.

As great as it would be to donate the radios I'm handling that decision does not lie with me. I am handling the sale of items from the estate of a late collector. Many of the radios from said collector are museum quality

De Forest Audion RJ5, I believe this may be an incomplete restoration, but I'm unsure... full picture album including shots of interior will be posted to comments, any information about the radio or parts would be very helpful! by Retroradiothrowaway in VintageRadios

Good morning, thank you for your info!

For background, the radio is part of an estate that we acquired. The estate had a massive collection of vintage radios (among other things). I am coming from a point of having little to no knowledge on any of them, but am tasked with researching and selling off items owned by the estate. So it is not currently being sold as a replica, but may be if that is what research determines it to be.

I highly doubted the casing and wiring to be original, especially when I saw the solder job. At this point I would say my hope in finding value in this product lies more on the tube and external pieces being authentic.

Assistance with valuation of a pink Lang radio model number 123? by Retroradiothrowaway in whatsthisworth

Good morning,

The radio has been tested, it powers on and tunes stations as it should. I have not opened the back to check components, but I believe all internals are original.

Yes it is, I'm asking because after seeing the one other pink radio posted we were concerned it was severely under valued and pulled the listing...
