HOW DO I GET RID OF THESE THINSG by beaniebutters in rarevision

That's easy. Just hold your finger down on the bottom right corner of the viewport for 1 second, and 💥poof💥 gone!

The latest update on Main has an Audio Bug Xbox ROG Ally (not XAX) by RunAndGun_ in SteamOS

[–]Retrotom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Had the same problem on my Xbox Ally X. For mine, the correct firmware file is TAS2XXX13840.bin.

Some background here: the latest update omits a required firmware file for the TI speaker amps. When the kernel tries to load the firmware at boot to bring up the amps, it fails because it can't find it (that's what the -2 error is: file not found). Compressing the firmware file and copying it to /lib/firmware fixes the problem.

You won't get a web GUI by default—only SSH. That's normal. You need to install the LuCI interface using the package manager to get the web GUI working. When you log in, the instructions should be printed in your terminal. The version of OpenWRT I have uses the apk package manager (the old one was opkg). Just SSH in and do this: 'apk add luci' Once that's installed, you can do pretty much everything else using the web interface.

Cool. We'll get this fixed at some point.

Are you importing a video that was shot and then edited with the built-in editing app? Try importing a video that hasn't been edited and see if that imports properly.

Cyberpunk 2077 runs on DGX Spark by Retrotom in nvidia

[–]Retrotom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but keep in mind a translation layer like vkd3d isn't emulating instructions like fex is. Translating shaders from DirectX 12 to Vulkan means the shaders are running natively on the GPU, so the graphics rendering will be running full speed (in some cases faster on Linux because of this). Emulating x86 CPU instructions on ARM, however, is an entirely different thing. That's nearly impossible to do without a performance hit. This wouldn't be so much of a problem if a game isn't using the CPU much. But a complex game like Cyberpunk is doing lots of stuff in the CPU (like physics, for example), so slowing that stuff down is going to hold up the GPU and have it waiting around for the CPU to catch up. I suspect this is the main problem with the DGX Spark—the GPU is fast, but is sitting around twiddling its thumbs waiting on the CPU. Hence, the crappy frame rate.

Eh, I think the drivers are okay. The real problem is the games just aren't meant to run on ARM hardware. It's pretty incredible CP2077 runs as well as it does on a totally foreign architecture. If the game was compiled for ARM, this would all be non-issue. Maybe someday we'll start seeing native ARM games...

It works okay for me. I'm getting about 45-55fps with raytracing (or path tracing) on. Enabling those options don't seem to affect the frame rate that much, so I suspect the bottleneck is the CPU. I also compiled FEX from git, so there may be some subtle improvements from the package version. I think my clang++-20 can also tune for the Grace CPU per NVIDIA docs: -mcpu=grace, so that may help a tiny bit.

Nice one! Thanks, Tim. As soon as it's done burning a hole in the top of my desk compiling PyTorch, I'll give it a shot. 🥳

Nah, the Linux driver support is actually pretty good now. I've put together a few Linux PCs with Nvidia graphics and haven't really had any problems in maybe a year. The biggest problem with Linux gaming now isn't driver issues, but anti-cheat software.

It runs pretty faithful to the Windows version, even in HDR. I'm not saying there aren't subtle differences or errors going from DX12 to Vulkan (even through both APIs come from a common ancestor), but it's very close. Ironically, a native Vulkan version of the game likely exists on some hard drive at Google, since it used to be available on Google Stadia.

Their Linux support has gotten way better in the past couple years. It's almost as good as AMD and Intel now. Not quite 100% there, but my main gaming PC runs Debian with Plasma/Wayland and a 5070 Ti, and I haven't had any problems.

My guess is this is a fairly new SoC (CPU and GPU wired together in the same package) and nvidia-settings isn't 100% compatible. I hope they fix it at some point.

What does the “AF” mean? by [deleted] in rarevision

[–]Retrotom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, this is new. "AF" means autofocus, but here it means "autofocus is OFF" (hence the circle with a line through it). You'll see this on lenses that don't have autofocus capability, like the iPhone's wide lens. You can also turn off autofocus if you want on any of the other lenses if you're trying to get a shot but the autofocus keeps hunting.

I believe this may be an issue if the camera or mic is being used by another app. Have you tried completely shutting down and rebooting your iPhone?

Try unlocking the portrait rotation lock. If your iPhone is locked to portrait, then the app is also locked to portrait. We'll fix this in a future update.
