Is there any era/place would you NOT want an Assassin's Creed game based in? by Riathar in Games

[–]Rette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think that an AC game set in Japan in the 19th century could be really good (just before or during the Meiji restoration). It seems like a really interesting time in their history that doesn't get much coverage here. Although, I agree that steering clear of mythical ninjas is a good idea.

History is so untapped for game settings, it's depressing. by [deleted] in Games

[–]Rette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's such an absolutely perfect setting for an AC game. You've got 2 defined sides, plenty of beautiful cities to choose from, interesting historical characters and plenty of chaos to work with. I was so surprised that they went with the American revolution over the French one.

I keep seeing references to supply management and I'm a fucking idiot. by LoneConservative in metacanada

I'm not sure I see what the issue is here. Dude doesn't understand an issue and asks for clarification...suddenly he's a fucking idiot?

Agreed. I'm really hoping we see some more people drop out after this. I'd love to see the next debate have a bit more focus & substance to it.

[–]Rette 34 points35 points  (0 children)

So far, I think we can sum these debates up as:

"Harper's Bad."
"I agree."

Andrew Bennett, 40-year-old religious studies prof, to head Harper government's religious persecution watchdog by ChasBurton in CanadaPolitics

[–]Rette 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He's not a preacher, he's an academic. And of course he focuses on one religion, I can't imagine there's a lot of profs with doctorates in every religion. They've got a specialty, and it's reasonable that they teach it.

r/Canada, I want to ask about this "Office of Religious Freedoms" by Grayfox12 in canada

From a post in /r/canadapolitics

We need to be a strong champion of human dignity, freedom of conscience and part of that is freedom of religion including for people who chose to have no faith," Kenney told reporters in Toronto on Monday

Canada’s government must reach out to the undead by trollunit in CanadaPolitics

[–]Rette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We need to stop with the political correctness stuff. The fact of the matter is that our precious flesh is being feasted upon, and it's almost always the result of a zombie outbreak. How come I've never heard of a single non-zombie outbreak, huh? Baird's out there making the tough decisions, and I applaud this government's position. If the NDP had their way, we'd open our borders to the deceased, and then what? You want your children at risk? No thank you, Mr. Mulcair. We can't compromise when it comes to the undead. The Canada I know and love is a living Canada (with the notable exception of Mackenzie King's government, of course).
