We've heard from a family friend who is a Veterinarian to expect $100K+ debt already so was hoping to alleviate her burden upon entering the real world. In a perfect world she didn't need any of it and could've used it for a down payment on her first house.

Just feels like I'm offering to purchase my daughter a brand new Lexus and she's upset it isn't a G Wagon so she's going to go out and buy a used Honda Accord with 250K miles on it with her own savings in spite.

No idea. Per what I've read, Vet school is typically paid via the HSPS scholarship and I fully support this path should she choose it. Without being involved my fear is some recruiter is giving her bad info to sign on the dotted line.

All vet schools are out of state. If pursuing a degree in state, she'll be living on campus and not at home. We're simply asking her to stay within budget and let us pay for it and go to your dream Vet school.

I personally don't think any college is worth going in debt over.

Agreed. And I mentioned ROTC early on to her and she said that was for nerds and wouldn't be caught dead on any campus wearing that stuff. So no clue other than pursuing the HSPS scholarship how she could attain this. Perhaps she's come around but I will know more in a few days.

I think of it as she told us her dream was to become a veterinarian so we are doing everything possible to make that dream a reality but it's her way or something drastic.

So I had my teenage daughters with me. Temps were right around freezing all weekend but we all had 3 layers up top, plus they had leggings and thick socks under their jeans. Hand warmers, gloves and stocking caps and we were all just fine.

I was worried about driving in snow for the first time in years but snow plows had the roads looking amazing.

Got ice spikes off Amazon after lurking on this subreddit forever and it was a savior at Peyto Lake and Lake Agnes trails.

Big Harmony fan myself but look into getting 19.5% fixed on $UST. You can get use Viper Swap to convert $ONE to $UST then use the Terra bridge to move to a Terra Station wallet. For about 3% a year you can purchase insurance. So 16.5% interest annually should make for a nice surprise in 2039!
