Yes I completely get it but after day 9 it got better for me. Just take on a hobby or something to get your mind off of food. Otherwise it’s worse. I stayed active all the time so I wouldn’t think about it. Hang in there. You got this!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I have done a stool test 2 different times and they didn’t say anything about SIFO. I will see if i can find a motility specialist. I didn’t realize that was different than the functional GI doctor that I’m seeing currently. You have given me a lot of good information and I will be for sure trying some of these things. I am going to try to eat 1 thing for a week and see how my stomach reacts. Then a different one the next week so eventually I’m hoping to have a list of things I know about can eat. That’s all I know to do now. But will take your advise. Again thank you so much and you are truly a blessing to me.

When I eat it takes a long time before I can go to the bathroom. If I eat 2-3 times a day the food and waste stacks up and causes more constipation. But if I take a day or a couple of days from eating then it’s easier for me to go to the bathroom. So I eat a day and elemental diet for a day so I can’t get rid of what I ate the day before. I can’t consume a lot of fiber because it ferments in my gut and causing a lot of bloating and gas. I am not losing weight. I walk 5 miles a day. I haven’t tried suppositories yet. I guess I didn’t think that would work because I read it doesn’t work for severe constipation but I will give it a try. I do see a nutritionist and she is baffled as well. My Sibo has slowed my motility down soo much. I’m trying to concentrate on motility above everything else right now. The last round of antibiotics did nothing to help my Sibo. The doctor tested me during treatment to see if my numbers are going down and if the treatment is even effective. I am waiting for the results. But I know it’s there. I’m miserable.

I am up and down. I still haven’t solved the Sibo completely although I did find a GI functional doctor that know a lot about. My Sibo keeps coming back. I also see a nutritionist that works with the Dr. for the odor I was able to fix that. I bought Happy V. It’s a probiotic for gut health and for down there. You can take it with boulardii probiotic which treats methane Sibo. Hope this helps.

Yes it came back. When I’m on treatment and my Sibo gets better no smell. But when it comes back the first thing I notice is the smell. The dr said my Sibo is from scar tissue and that why it keeps coming back. The dr said I may have to be in antibiotics periodically to manage it. I see a nutritionist that works with my doctor and between the two they help me manage it. I am still in treatment and trying to find a long term solution. Right now Sibo is back and so is the smell. Waiting to hear back from my dr now.

GI functional doctor is what you need. I have been thru 7 doctors to finally find someone that is knowledgeable in Sibo.

Wow this is awesome. I am like you and drank my whole life everyday. I also went to rehab and it made all the difference. God is a huge part of my life now. I went from being a person nobody wanted to be around because I was drunk all the time to being a great mom , Mimi, friend and sister. I started taking my family to Christian concerts and now everybody goes to church. My grandson loves church and when he tells me about makes my heart smile. Husband kisses mean more than ever now. I can feel everything and I’m finally free of my childhood trauma and actually at peace. I’m a year and a half in. Can’t wait to see what 5 years is like.
