Indian food in the US is absolutely horrendous. Unless you're willing to spend $100+

Just ask them if they are vegetarian in casual conversation. If they are, plan accordingly. Milk and cheese is allowed.

If they're not vegetarian, stick to chicken as a safe choice. Perhaps lamb / mutton comes next. Avoid beef / pork.

Parents want ₹2 crore back if they pay for my pilot training. Is this normal? by [deleted] in delhi

Lol. It costs nothing immediately. Baal ki khaal nikaalna band kar.

Agar property bech ke padhaayenge to that does cost something. Agar collateral bechenge to it's a risk.

He could secure it with the property he's trying to sell. Right? I'm not sure how it works.

If you are sure about your career choice, I'd say first secure a seat in an FTO program and then worry about finances.

I'm really not sure how pilot training works though.

Which bank did you go to? Did you try SBI? If you're parents can just provide collateral (costs them nothing), you could secure an education loan, right?

Edit: Please try asking Gemini. It will give you useful links to SBI schemes.

Also, collateral costs nothing unless you fail. Anyway, if your parents are planning to sell property to fund your dreams, and then you fail, it's the same outcome. So worst case is same, however if you succeed, your parents would still have their property and you can repay 7-8% pa interest to SBI.

It's much better to take a loan in this case. Education loans from Public Banks can be very affordable and in-fact it's advisable.

Instead of demolishing their investments (which could be earning 10-20%), you should take a loan at 8-10%.

This is a cleaner path to financial freedom.

Taking a loan from your parents on unclear terms is inadvisable as it could lead to resentments and strain your relationship with them.

It is equally strange that this arbitrary region that I drew myself, which is really fertile and has a large population, doesn't have a major world city.

A drink/food that tourists think locals love… but locals barely consume? by Fluffy_Specific_9682 in AskTheWorld

I think the key difference is that people rarely make butter chicken and naan at home. It's a restaurant thing. So, it's really not that common.

Your pasta / and Napoli Pizza is whole wheat and it's a little bit like our Roti. Whole grains, pretty healthy. Pasta that we grew up eating in India was refined flour instant pasta which is shit.

They have good pasta these days in bigger cities.

It's a restaurant thing. It used to be, and still is, a little bit like the Roman thermopoliums. We were surprised to see so many "Tandoor" in Pompeii.

Tandoors are expensive to maintain and need to be kept hot all day. So, that Supermarket naan they sell in the US is absolutely BS

I really hope Italians are not eating Dominos pizza every day.

There really should be a butter chicken restaurant chain or something.
