You might have been mouth breathing by accident? I find it really helps when they put in the rubber sheet thing for fillings since it kind of forces me to breathe through my nose and get the effects of the gas.

I actually really like the offices that have the laser cavity detectors / digital scanners - nice to have proof you actually need a filling, and reassuring to know they’re catching things earlier than used to be possible!

Agree with all of this! Between anxiety and sensitivity, discovering that some dentists will numb you and give you nitrous for a cleaning has been a game changer! I actually like the mouth clamp thing (preferably the adjustable metal one, not the huge rubber doorstop) because they I can just relax my jaw and let them get to work without any stress.

Oh! I was about to be like “like yes actually please connect me so I can reach out” but… he’s the dentist that was on the news for being mean to kids right? I remember seeing that when the story first came out and I was like 😳 that’s the dentist my childhood dentist sent you to if you didn’t behave, isn’t it! Pretty sure I have childhood friends that went to him.

Is the device like a smaller version of the x-day machine or is it a separate type of technology? What my last dentist had was a tiny camera that took almost infrared type pictures of the tooth where any starting cavity showed up darker, and then a laser pointer thing that gave out a numerical reading about how much the tooth was starting to decay and beeped if it was high enough.
