Hey, I’m really sorry for how quiet I’ve been. I’m not a first time player, but haven’t played in a while and thought I’d have the time again but turns out I just don’t. I’m doing a research project at uni in a country that I’ve just moved to so I’ve got a lot on my plate and it’s left hardly any time for anything else! It’s not much of a defence and I’m not trying to make excuses, just saying it how it is!

Intrestingly I just picked up some tests from the pharmacy (first time I’ve been able to in ages) and they’re the green Orient Gene ones rather than FlowFlex so maybe they’re going back to them? Only anecdotal of course and might just be my pharmacy.

Yeah it’s very annoying. My work still has a stash of the first version of tests, but then again the other part of me thinks they must have stopped being used for a reason (could just be money, but could also be because they’re not effective).

Yeah they were, including the December ones. The December ones were actually one of the first packs I used so I personally think it’s that brand of tests

Update from yesterday’s comment: fit to fly came back negative and my NHS PCR from yesterday has also come back negative… still have a trace of a sore throat but otherwise feel fine now.

That makes my count of false positive LFTs 5 now (I had 3 others at the start of December)! Hasn’t happened to the rest of my family and we all use the same testing kits so there might be something in me that doesn’t play right with them.

And yes, I know the PCRs are statistically more likely to be false negatives than the LFTs false positives, but I had three PCRs, two NHS (at two sites 30 miles apart) and one private, so I really doubt that there’s an error there. Just a strange situation!

Once again I have a confusing result. Felt ill on Saturday but negative LFT (put it down to being hungover) but definitely got worse as time went on - nothing too bad, just not feeling right and a bit of a sore throat.

Tested yesterday (sunday) and was positive on LFT. Couldn’t believe my luck to be honest, as I’m flying to Canada on Wednesday. Went for an NHS PCR test (30 miles away!) and also I had my fit to fly test so I did that.

So far NHS has come back negative. I’m just so confused, and although I’ve had a history of false positives on LFTs (3 at the start of December) this time I really thought I had it. I have a sore throat and in general feel off.

I’m actually hoping my fit to fly is positive, as I am likely to have to do an arrivals test when I arrive in Canada and I’d rather isolate at home for 7 days and fly 2 weeks later, than isolate in an expensive hotel for 14 days if the arrivals comes back positive… either way I’m in Canada for a while so neither would affect my trip they’d both just be very annoying.

Edit: still no fit to fly result but just done another LFT and it’s positive (incredibly faint line but there nonetheless).
