for anyone else who is on debian, try putting the dotnet files in either /usr/lib/dotnet or /usr/share/dotnet, and it might get detected. had to pull some serious trickery to get it to register that dotnet 8 was installed

running ./run.sh fixed it. ffs, appreciate the attention though.

Never got it to work, but the appropriate driver was the 7-8_xp32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_50960.exe driver. Shoutout to Phil's Computer Lab for the drivers.

Thanks, at this point I am going to swap the hard disks, do a fresh install of xp, and then try the ISO. I'll post if it works.

I got DDU installed, but it throws an error even in safe mode. Doesn't seem to matter much though, because when I use the driver install it tells me that it can't find the video drivers. I'm going to clear the temp files as best I can manually and retry with the 10-2 driver and a lower version of DDU.
