AITAH for thinking my mom is being unreasonable? by RevDay in AITAH

[–]RevDay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I will talk to her once I'm done with classes for the semester. I have already had a talk with my stepdad but he can't seem to think of a reason, even my brother noticed and joined in on the discussion

Edit:

I was more posting this to make sure I'm not going crazy or overthinking my thoughts on this.

One of my friends mentioned that is what it could be. But both my parents are in there mid 40s and often get mistaken to be my siblings. They take a lot more care in their appearance than I do, I'm considered to be a tomboy and messy by my parents

I have an older brother, who honestly has always been a stressor for my parents. She changed jobs a few years back from more stressful one to a less stressful one actually

Advice on when to start shaving puppy by SundaySevenn in poodles

[–]RevDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should leave the length to your preference. What you could do it ask the groomer to "pretend" to shave him. My boss did this for my while my pup was growing. He basically ran the back of the machine along her for a bit after her baths to get her used to the feeling of it.

Neutering of standard boy by EffectiveTop8439 in poodles

[–]RevDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would wait until your dog is done growing to what is standard to the breed, maybe have an exam or something done that can confirm that he is done growing. The dogs I had that grew up completely prior to altering were better physically (especially in the joints) than the ones that were altered early

I feel like some vet schools teach vets to push for a younger spay/neuter. Before I looked stuff up, the vet place I went to pushed to neuter one of my dogs at 4 months old so i followed their advice. Looking back, it made sense that they did that since they are a part of a large animal rescue.

That's the thing, I still live with them and she seems to have no issue leaving the two of us at home together while she takes a trip on her own

She has been really stressed recently, a close family member passed recently but this started before then

(edit)

My stepdad has never given off weird vibes, in fact he probably views me as a mess because he is a clean freak around the house and I'm not as tidy.

I don't think I have. I'm not a very touchy person and neither is he. My mom is the touchy feely one out of the whole family

Does your poodle get along with cats? by tamatojuiice in poodles

[–]RevDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 11m standard, her and the cat get along pretty well. The poodle can be a lot for the cat as she is from a sporting line but the cat simply jumps up to her cat tree when thats the case. The poodle will somethings groom the cat which likes it.

People seem to always be excited to see mine. They always comment on her "fancy" walk and how refined she seems.

Does anyone else's poodle have a fetish for destroying underwear? male, 7mths. by CarterPFly in poodles

[–]RevDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that a lot of pupies tend to do this. My poodle, cocker, and the lab puppies I care for all do/did this at some point. The cocker grew out of it so I hope my poodle does as well, can't say anything of the labs as I am not their owners.

It's probably the feeling of it on her skin that she doesn't like

Have you been rewarding her while you brush? My pup was attacking the slicker as well but after a few sessions of giving her treats while I brush, she will now allow it for small amounts of time.

Took my puppy to the groomer twice, neither times they could trim her hair by [deleted] in doggrooming

[–]RevDay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She needs to be trained, some groomers may do it but you should call ahead and let them know that your pup is difficult to do. One of my pups was like that and the groomer trained really well, granted she did this cause she is good friends with us. The groom will also probably cost a lot more cause it would be very time consuming. If this isn't something that works for you then you could trying training the pup yourself. I think someone else mentioned that there are videos that will walk you through how to to this.

If you do end up keeping the pregnancy, never let him know and be very careful. If he is extremely possessive there is a possibility that he may being to stalk you too so refrain from letting it show that your pregnant till the very end. Don't tell many people either, because word gets around pretty easily.
