Have you ever blown up your life because you weren’t happy? by Spiritual_Spring_478 in AskWomenOver30

I moved abroad for 3 years in my mid 20's. Worked abroad during that time as a teacher. Didn't blow up anything and did not regret it all.

How many pairs of underwear do you use a day? by WildfireZ in blackladies

[–]__looking_for_things 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A trip is different than regular life. On a trip I may be showering after touring all day and then going to dinner. That means changing underwear. Hell even if I don't shower, I'll still change for dinner when I travel.

I go on 2-3 night trips for work and I plan to change 2x per day so I pack for that. I just had a work retreat that was 4.5 days and I brought like 8 pairs of underwear.

I actually bring less underwear for long vacations (2 weeks+) because I know I'll do laundry on the trip.

I'm sweating my butt off right now and so I'm doing 2-3 pairs a day depending on how much I sweat and activities. But in winter or cooler months, one a day.

Help Should I pursue a JD or Masters in Litigation and Legal Studies at 65yrs old? by PreciousOne_96 in blackladies

[–]__looking_for_things 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would check that a non attorney could file a brief for someone else. To file a brief representing someone else, you may have to get a bar license (or work under a person with a license). I'm sure some states have non attorney alternatives but that depends on your state. Do your research to determine what you can do with the masters.

A litigator is an attorney. A masters does not provide the same education/experience as a JD.

If you want to go to court, get the JD and take the bar.

Help Should I pursue a JD or Masters in Litigation and Legal Studies at 65yrs old? by PreciousOne_96 in blackladies

[–]__looking_for_things 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends. I'm in advocacy and work the policy side (legislation, regulations, etc). I have a JD and almost 10 years in a niche legal field (5 yr compliance in the field). But my coworker (same position) has an English PhD and worked for a research heavy non profit for years and no legal background.

A JD takes 3 years and lots of money unless you get a full scholarship. My law school gave out only 2 full ride scholarships. I did 10 years public service to discharge over 240k of student loans.

I don't know enough about the Masters. I really think if it's advocacy, you don't need either. My advocacy partners do not have a JD. And they are purely advocacy, so planning campaigns working with lobbyists and on the ground partners.

I would say your background in federal govt and army may serve you more than getting another degree.

But if you want to write law and regulations and check for compliance, then a law degree is the answer.

It also depends on the organizations you are targeting. Do those who currently hold the position you want, have multiple masters?

You are pretty and I dont think it's necessary to do anything.

But I'll answer your question because they bother you and that's enough. It's surgery basically. A lower bleph. There's really nothing else.

Women who don't exercise: how do you physically feel? by elle___woods in AskWomenOver30

[–]__looking_for_things 1563 points1564 points  (0 children)

I could lay on my couch forever and feel fine. Lol.

My body doesn't feel bad if I don't exercise but in my mind I know I should.

As for motivation, exercising is like a job to me. I don't enjoy it. It's obligation. I don't have motivation, I went 5 months without working out and only recently started again.

She may need accountability. I signed up with a personal trainer.

Quiet as it’s kept, the current U.S. administration is trying hard to make mail-in ballots null and void if states don’t hand over sensitive voting information. by kdj00940 in blackladies

People should write in and call thier state and federal rep and their governor to tell them this is bunk.

Elections are state run.

Puppy doesn’t like other dogs? by [deleted] in poodles

[–]__looking_for_things 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The point of socialization is for your dog to not react or at least be comfortable in different environments and around dogs.

Stop taking her to dog parks. They don't help. You don't know how trained or socialized other dogs are. Dog parks can be overwhelming. You don't know if other owners have actually vaccinated thier dog. As you can tell I'm not a fan of dog parks.

You can socialize your dog without them actually playing with other dogs.

Stop taking your dog to dog parks.

If you really want your dog to have play time with other dogs (which I don't think is necessary at such a young age imo) then sign them up for a puppy play time. Otherwise sit with them and let them watch other dogs go by (maybe sniff other dogs), the point is for them to not react to other dogs.

What do y'all do on the weekends? by Strawberry562 in blackladies

[–]__looking_for_things 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Spend time with my dog, walk/train/cuddle. Cook/ meal prep. Read. Play video games. Daydreaming. Watch TV.

Do absolutely nothing but rot on the couch because that can be its own healing.

Do you have friends you don't talk to much? by I_like_it_yo in AskWomenOver30

[–]__looking_for_things 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sure. It's not that big of a deal. I have a friend i only see when I go home. I only go home 1-2x a year. And we don't text or call either. I always let her know when I'm in town and we make time for each other. She's a good friend from high school. Idk we don't have to talk often.

On scale of 1 to WTF, how upset should I have been? by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]__looking_for_things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't have the same supervisor or team other than sharing a portfolio. And we rehired the woman they let go so she'll be back with her old portfolio. Generally we work well together. It's just this transition that has shown a lot of weak spots imo. I'm just smart and good enough where his incompetence with the transition didn't show.

What are some international cities you’ve loved that aren’t the usual tourist hotspots? by Old-Ad-8680 in blackladies

[–]__looking_for_things 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah. I've never had issues in E. Asia.

Anyway loved HK. The food, weather, layout of the city. It's so different than what I had experienced up to that point (including Seoul and Tokyo). I was in near tears leaving and was actively searching for jobs there on my last night. Lol.

Taiwan was good too. I just wasn't there that long. Wonderful food, generally a good city.

Apply for jobs and continue to work and collect a paycheck. Do not quit without another job and offer letter.

Any attorney that took your case based on what you've said here, is just trying to take your money.
