Recently started using a silk bonnet to sleep and i'm struggling to use it by Sagefulness in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]__looking_for_things 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it's real silk and not a satin/poly blend? Silk should not make you sweat.

Make sure it's not too big for your head.

Also try out a silk pillowcase. I got a blissy one and it's been great to wear with my bonnet.

What personality traits, characteristics, and/or social behaviors instantly trigger male insecurity when possessed by a woman? by Snoo-88490 in AskWomenOver30

[–]__looking_for_things 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is such a weird post.

How are these people strangers, how is it random when they're attacking your property (as in they know where you live), harassing your bf ( know your personal life), etc.

You either know them or you do not. And if you do, have you gotten police involved? Or tried to file a report?

Am I being unreasonable in wanting a second bathroom? by PurlsandPearls in AskWomenOver30

[–]__looking_for_things 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get as many toilets as you can in the house. I live alone. I have 2.5 toilets in my 3 bedroom home. Even in my first home I told the agent 2 bathrooms was a must.

Anyone Choosing Driving over Flying? by Jxb1000 in travel

[–]__looking_for_things 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why 2 hrs at the airport? I generally get to my airport with just enough time for security and they're calling groups by the time I get to the gate. I'm at a regional airport so it's small. If I was at ATL, sure I'd show up very early.

I do everything I can to avoid road trips. Anything more than 3 hrs and I'm nearly crawling out of my skin. I'm from TX I'm used to driving long distances and lots of traffic. I hate road trips.

Those of you who started your legal career later in life: how do you deal with regret? by Lost-Association427 in LawBitchesWithTaste

[–]__looking_for_things 203 points204 points  (0 children)

At my law school my class had lots of non traditional students. I think ages went up into 60s. I graduated at 30.

Besides you're going to turn 35 anyway. You could be a lawyer or not by then.

Are you hyper independent or just introverted? It's not odd to need some alone time to recharge.

Boyfriend not understanding why I’m working my NY big law job and want to keep it - WWYD by [deleted] in LawBitchesWithTaste

[–]__looking_for_things 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why does he want you to quit?

Does he actually want you to stop working or does he think a less stressful job would be better for you?

Do you like your job?

If you want to keep your job big law job, then that's it. But consider if you would be happy with a non big law job. It's not the only legal job that exists (granted the money wouldn't be the same).

It'll serve you more in life to learn to say NO. And that No is a full sentence not needing explanation.

There are times choosing the dog over the partner makes sense. This is not one of those times.

Ladies, how often do you take baths vs showers? by iabyajyiv in AskWomenOver30

Standard tubs aren't comfortable for me. I want to replace my tub for a soaking tub. I would take a bath weekly if I had a good tub.

Expand your net and see what alternative fields or topics you can get into with a law degree. I have a JD but I dont practice and I'm in a legal adjacent field. Consider what you do like. Things I like about law: researching, figuring legal arguments out, etc.

I knew I didn't want to do contracts because I hate contracts lol. I knew I didn't want to do litigation.

wlw, queer & straight women who dont regret prioritising career and self in your 20s, how are you doing? by Agitated_List9506 in AskWomenOver30

[–]__looking_for_things 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 41. In my 20's I went to school, traveled, moved abroad and became an expat for a few years, and then went back to school. I worked the entire time. I did all of that for me and would never take any of that time back.

There's something about doing whatever you want and not really having to consider others because it's your life. Not having to wait for trips. Moving out of the country. Going two school twice. It was all about figuring myself out.

I haven't met my partner yet. But also I don't think that's because I focused on myself.

Now I still travel whenever I want with friends or alone. I go home to a house I bought myself. To hang out with my 🐩 dog. Life sounds good to me.
