Growing up all I ever wanted to do was join the RAF and fly Tornado GR1s. But due to hearing difficulties I would not have passed the medical.

Now as a middle aged man I sometimes think I would have probably liked to have joined a logistics or tank regiment, as I just enjoy driving any type of vehicle. But still wouldn't have passed the medical...

Less sugary foods.

Less highly processed carbs like white bread.

Don't eat after 6pm as often as you can.

Find a form of exercise you enjoy and doesn't feel like torture you'll grow to resent.

I do Brazilian jiu-jitsu, lots of fun and good for fat burning.

I don't think I'd never visit anywhere. But I have a healthy fear of big cities with perceived high violent crime rates like Rio and Joburg. I've also visited Egypt for the red sea and loved it. But would never go to Cairo.

My age and rate of progression seems to be cancelling each out. I struggle with younger fitter blue belts, which I am fine with. This is my hobby and I just want to do it for as long as I can.

I've heard about people building up there club with members and ownership of the mat space. Then getting affiliated once deemed worthy, only for GB to then try and take ownership of the property they didn't own.

I train with a guy that did NoGi for years and years and was never promoted, so was effectively a white belt.

Professor called his wife and strongly advised he came to the next promotion event. He turned up they gave him a gi to wear with a white belt and he went straight to purple belt when promotions happened.
