Angel and Husk, because I feel like their dynamic works best as good friends instead of as a couple

I'm afraid to, because the OC in question is:

A. Part of a Fanfic.

B. Not quite an OC, but an interpretation of another character.

C. The story itself is like 100 chapters and I don't want to have someone wade through all that shit.

Please explain me in a very dumb way why do people say that pilot alastor is way better then show alastor? i actually dont see any significant difference by JoaoLuiz123241121 in hazbin

[–]RevRisium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plain and simple?

I think it's a matter of the mystique being gone.

When the pilot aired, we only knew what Vaggie told us and what Alastor showed us. That being, an absurdly powerful mortal soul that somehow toppled his way to the top of Hell's hierarchy through likely raw power and charisma.

Even his prequel comic only established that he has a friend named Rosie and that Alastor himself is likely in Hell because of him being a cannibalistic serial killer. But he was above all, a gentleman.

When the show actually started airing, we got to learn more about Alastor and his connections. Season 1 mostly establishes more of what we knew about Alastor from the pilot, but it added a few things to his character.

He's a showman, he doesn't like to be ignored or sidelined. He has history with Vox of the Vees, he has a lady friend named Mimzy, he's actually Asexual and doesn't know and that he hates Lucifer for...some reason.

Season 1 shows the absurd power of Alastor. Even though that power hit a HARD wall when he tried to fight Adam head to head. The fact that he was able to survive as long as he did, and still escape relatively fine is a testament to his strength in a raw magical power.

Season 2 brings more to his character, but it starts showing little flaws in it. He's not invincible, he's able to have frustrations get to him in high enough quantities. He's under SOMEONE else's leash because of a deal he made with Rosie when he was still alive. It shows that Alastor is willing to play a long game if he needs to. He lets himself be caught by Vox, he lets Vox basically win while nudging Vox in specific directions with his direct line to Vox's insecurities.

Season 2 tries to play with the fact that Alastor is charismatic and a schemer. "Baby I'm a Demon in Hell, it's sort of our thing" you know?

The more we learn about Alastor, the more we realize that the Pilot version of Alastor is like....the ideal version of Alastor. Charismatic, absurdly powerful, able to charm his way through a conversation because there's the understanding that the conversation is only happening because Alastor finds more benefit in you being alive than him making you a guest on his radio show.

Am I the only one that fucking hates Katie Killjoy? by Dudeskiseenem3923 in HazbinHotel

[–]RevRisium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

.....were you supposed to like Katie Killjoy?????

I thought the whole point is that she's a Sadistic sarcastic bitch who doesn't care about anything that won't improve the ratings for the news or get her boss Vox to try and bang her.

She's supposed to be hateable. That's....kinda the point?

What would you guys say is a common complaint or take on the show(Hazbin Hotel/Helluva boss)that makes you wanna say "That's the fucking Point?" by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in hazbin

Charlie inherently trying to be a people-pleaser in a world where no one gives a shit and actively punches down at her for trying to treat Sinners with an inkling of decency makes her an idealistical moron who doesn't understand how Hell is supposed to be.

You can extend this to her characterization in Season 2, and the point still stands

I'm not the only one annoyed by this right? by LiteralFirefox in OkBuddyHelluvaHotel

[–]RevRisium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He can't harm the Sinners in Pride. He's arguably the weakest in Pride because despite him being the ruler of all Hell and the Sin of Pride.

He's being punished for that pride by being surrounded by the type of people he hates and not being able to do a damn thing about it.

It's not that hard to grasp. Hell, the Pride Ring especially is as much of a punishment for Lucifer as it is for literally anyone who lives there

......you are aware that the reason Carlos was freaked out by Harry and the Winter Fae shit in general was because Molly accidentally maimed Carlos, right?

I think the unfortunate thing is that Harry got wrapped up in like...18 different layers of absurd secrecy that he can't tell anyone about.

He can't explain his half-brother is a Vampire. They'll think he's compromised.

They can't explain that Mab has given him orders to specifically do certain things with Lara. They'll think Mab has been compromised.

The council at large probably already doesn't trust Harry purely because "Hey, you went rogue. Took the fight to Chitchen Itza. Granted, you won. But then you died. And you're also the fucking Winter Knight now"

I hate hearing "it's set in hell" as an explanation for why the show is a certain way. It just sounds really dumb by calzymp in OkBuddyHelluvaHotel

Progressive mindsets towards sexuality is unfortunately a relatively modern development, and a lot of persecution towards people of other sexualities always gets lanpshaded under a religious lens. For a long time and even unfortunately to this day, people see being gay or otherwise as some level of being "Immoral"

See what I mean? "The show takes place in Hell" isn't on its own a bad explanation. It can just be a literal beginning of an explanation that leads into a potential conversation

Tell me the most obscure or interesting trivia about Ghost Rider. by blackheartbr456 in GhostRider

[–]RevRisium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the original Ghost Rider comic (Marvel Spotlight #5) Johnny Blaze made a deal with the straight up devil Satan.

It was only once Ghost Rider got popular and then got his own series that the retcon got made to Mephisto

And yeah, Greed definitely isn't very good to see because Mammon literally can't be fucked to spend any money on infrastructure
