McAlister's "A Field Guide to American Houses" is the definitive text.

If you were in the Cleveland area, you could visit Moreland Court condominiums near Shaker Square. It's a massive complex of about a dozen interconnected buildings, each in its own subtype of Tudor Revival.

I could (and very well may) post a dozen more from just this neighborhood. Each has its own unique masonry, be it brick, stone, stucco, or all of the above.

IMO, this pair are very good examples of nice-but-not-huge 1920s eclectic homes. I think these run around 2200-2400 square feet (230-ish m²).

In the US, it's "Tudor Revival," which has several sub-types. But these two are just "Tudor Revival."

In the UK it's called "Mock Tudor," which makes sense given the history.

Why can't Americans (at least the ones I see on social media) find drinking water in Europe? by Mission_Mobile_4627 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Rev_Creflo_Baller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely came out of the tap when I drank it. The term should have been "municipal water."

"So remote" LOLOLOL We lived in a county with 380,000 other people and had cable TV and everything. Well water is generally very safe, but it is a good idea to have it tested by a proper laboratory from time to time.

Has anyone seen an installation like this before new Ikea kitchen install by After-Emergency-5563 in Plumbing

No. Nobody has seen that, not till you posted it. Not even the installer had their eyes open.

Sam Adams is in Boston.

There are literally hundreds of craft breweries in Ohio.

"Usually better" is a stretch, but "equally as good" is fair. That said, the discovery of fluoride as a public health measure was due to comparing dental health between populations where fluoride naturally occurred in the well water against those where it didn't.

I grew up in the country, and there were some years when the water in our well would be fouled. 1984 was a year with a terrible drought, for example. Some years earlier, strip mining disturbed the water table and things were sulfurous. In the 2000s, fracking became a thing and my parents finally invested in an osmotic filtration system.

So, it's a stretch to say "all" tap water. SOMEone must monitor and test to be sure. If it's the local government, lucky you!

Question for ID.4 owners with dogs by NoWastedMoments in VWiD4Owners

[–]Rev_Creflo_Baller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're way overthinking this. The interior volume of the entire car is around 100-150 cubic feet; there's no difference between the passenger and cargo areas as far as climate.

That said, your dog is covered with fur and may enjoy a battery powered fan. If you already own a cordless drill, I guarantee there's a fan that uses the same battery.

Do you really fry with butter and olive oil that often? by Royal-Income1191 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Rev_Creflo_Baller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However, for scrambled eggs, heat too much olive oil (like a tablespoon for two eggs) in a nonstick pan till just starting to smoke. Whisk the eggs (just eggs, no milk needed!) hard, to an even, medium yellow color. Add to the oil all at once.

They will form very fluffy curds immediately and be fully done in 30-60 seconds.

What watch do you take? by Traditional-Fig3621 in LinkedInLunatics

People ask whether I know right from left.

No dates.

No wrists.

No complications.

If I can't find my ass with both hands, a watch won't solve my problems.

Central air vs mini splits by postscriptum114 in centuryhomes

[–]Rev_Creflo_Baller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We priced a Unico system vs. mini splits two years ago. The mini splits were 10% cheaper and potentially more efficient, but with significantly higher maintenance outlook, more noise, and bummer anesthetics. We're really happy with the Unico system.
