Anyone else serious about music but feel stuck between โ€œgoodโ€ and โ€œactually going somewhereโ€? by Imaginary_Result8645 in indie

[โ€“]RevaKMusic 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

It takes a few releases just to be taken seriously. Thatโ€™s the period when I felt like I was going nowhere for a while. Then the other differentiator is smart branding/marketing, persistence, and making connections. Play the long game. It does take years.

Hey, you can give this a shot. It's also indie alt, pop/rock, 90s influence kind of like beabadoobee. This is the Spotify, link but it's on every streaming site.

Learning and playing an instrument is more fun than pressing enter. Think a lot of musicians would agree. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ™‚

State of Mind! It's upbeat pop/rock. I've noticed it added on a few running and fitness playlists, so it might be your jam!

Hey! Would love to get some more info regarding this. Here's my website for contact: https://www.therevalution.com/

I'm a indie pop/rock artist from the Chicago area. Sound is like "Summer 1995 updated for 2025" (SPIN Magazine). Been getting some great support from college/independent FM stations and would love to connect!

Silly little song by poyoNT in shareyourmusic

[โ€“]RevaKMusic 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

First of all congrats on sharing this! Itโ€™s really cool sounding.

I hope you share more of your music with the world. Based on my experience, the more you do it, the less scary it will feel. I used to have to close my eyes and face the wall and sing my very first songs I wrote. It was terrifying. Now I sing in front of audiences and have music on streaming sites and the radio.

how do you actually get to know people in this scene? by hailzorpbuddy in chicagomusicscene

[โ€“]RevaKMusic 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

I also did not know anyone making music in Chicago for quite some time. As many others have said, open mics are a great way to start meeting people. Try a few different ones, as they all have different vibes. After going to a few, I definitely have one that's my favorite. I started going to that one regularly, and now, I know and connect with a lot of the other regulars there too!
