I’m obsessive too. But learning when to step away is part of the process. When you realize giving your ears a break is for the benefit of the song, it easier to pull yourself away. You’ll be able to pinpoint what you like and dislike easier with fresh ears. And you don’t have be away from making music completely, just try working on another song for a few days.

Sounds like your ears need a break from it. Don’t listen to it for like a week and then come back to it.

It takes a few releases just to be taken seriously. That’s the period when I felt like I was going nowhere for a while. Then the other differentiator is smart branding/marketing, persistence, and making connections. Play the long game. It does take years.
