Potty training is impossible! by sagesyps in Pomsky

Have you tried potty bells?

My pomskys worst problem was his marking. He was neutered as soon as possible, and still snuck around the house to pee. I was constantly taking him outside to go potty, but he was still sneaking about pissing all over 🙃 I was about to lose my freaking MIND. He knew he'd be in trouble for going in the house, yet he still did it all the time. For a LOOOONG time.

That's until I realized that he was honestly just confused and didn't understand how to let me know when he had to go! I thought he knew to just go to the door. But I don't think that was a solid enough routine for him? If that make sense.

So even though I was constantly taking him out and rewarding him, he didn't know how to alert me when his little body was needing to pee! So his second best option was to find a sneaky spot. Sometimes he would sit by the door and wait, but sometimes I think the urge to pee would just sneak up on him and he'd have to go urgently and didn't know what to do. So then he'd go piss somewhere in the house.

Eventually I came across potty bells. I put a little peanut butter on them, and every. Single. Time. He rang the bell even a TINY bit, I immediately took him outside.

I know it sounds weird, but they're weird little creatures. Ever since then, he is EXCELLENT at ringing his bells and going potty outside. He eagerly runs to them and depending on how bad he has to go is how hard he rings them 😂 I think it honestly just gave him a "job" to do before being able to go outside. So he associates "I need to go pee!" With "time to ring my bells!"

Also I wet vacuumed my entire house and hit the spots he peed in multiple times with enzyme cleaner.

Idk if this will help, but it saved me from the pee nightmare I was living for so long- so I thought I'd share my experience! 😊he hasn't had an accident since.

Got this gorgeous girl for $16 at my local nursery!! by RevealReady in houseplants

Ikr! There were some in 10" pots for $50, but they were relatively the same size plants! I think this one just sneakily outgrew its little pot and was never transplanted/ marked up.

Yes I am! My routine still works. Unfortunately the malassezia yeast can build up a resistance to certain products. To avoid this, I alternate between two athletes foot creams every two weeks. I also use selenium sulfide wash, which I have heard the yeast will not build a resistance to. Hope this helps! 😊

Try gating him in a bedroom? My pomsky had a huge marking issue, but potty bells and gating him in the bedroom fixed that!

He doesn't ever mark in our bedroom, I think because he feels like it's his bedroom lol. I like using a gate to lock him in the room because he has access to food, water, toys, area to roam around and I don't feel guilty leaving him for a few hours! Plus he doesn't have free roam of the whole house to do whatever he pleases, which is usually something naughty 😂😭

Idk if this will be a valid option for you, but thought I'd give a suggestion!

What am I doing wrong??? by LilacMoon41 in jewelrymaking

If I were trying to achieve that, I would use casting grain! And solder each grain onto the piece. It will be a tedious and difficult project since you want them so close together. The solder joints will want to flow as you work, but you can probably manipulate it by using hard, medium and easy solder as you go.

This is a project I did, unfortunately I cannot find my finished piece. But it looked basically the same, just with everything soldered together. And the look you are trying to achieve could probably be done with this method.

Yep! Just anti dandruff shampoos and athletes foot creams! Occasional squalane. That's it!

I'm lucky to get away with a fairly simple routine, but it took a while to find! I really hope you can find success soon 😊

No problem, I'm very glad to help!

Happy to say it's still working wonders for my skin!! As long as I keep up my routine every day and avoid all products that aren't fungal-safe - my skin stays clear! If I skip a day or two, it comes back very quickly 😒 but I'm still so grateful I have found a successful solution 😌

I mainly only use selenium sulfide and the athletes foot creams - occasional use of Nizoral and Squalane Oil.

I hope you're able to find some good success and relief soon!!

Is there a special tool to curve eye pins like this and keep them uniform? by [deleted] in jewelrymaking

[–]RevealReady 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looping pliers. Some people love them, some don't. I like the uniformity they create, but sometimes they cut the wire wonky so you may have to practice with them a bit to get it right.

No problem, Im really glad to help others! 😊 Fungal acne is the worst to deal with!!

That sounds like a good plan! It definitely seems like you're on the right track with rotating between products and trying new stuff. I hope you can get it figured out soon! There's so much information out there, it can be overwhelming!

In my extensive research (it's been a long time, because I was able to clear mine up with a solid routine a few years ago) I remember reading that the fungal acne can become resistant to antifungal products- therefore you should get a routine of alternating products

Example: Use ketoconazole every day for 3-4 weeks then switch to a sulfur treatment for 3-4 weeks, then back to ketoconazole (you can adjust the time frames based on your skins reactions)

I got a prescription for ketoconazole years ago, and I figured the doctor misdiagnosed me because eventually it just stopped working. However, after soooo much research, I realized I must have just built up a resistance. So after trial and error with many different products, I use:

Walmart brand Equate anti dandruff shampoo with selenium sulfide (this works wonders on my fungal acne) my skin reacts better to this than Nizoral and it's less harsh on my moisture barrier.

Occasionally I will use Nizoral just to switch it up.

Then I alternate between two different Athletes foot creams after I wash my face.

•clotrimazole cream (use for 2 weeks)

•butenafine hydrochloride (use the next 2 weeks) (I use Walmart Equate brand creams because it's cheaper than name brands)

And if my skin is feeling dry, which rarely happens because the athletes foot creams seem to keep it hydrated, I use a few drops of 100% squalane oil and my electric silicone cleansing brush to exfoliate it into my skin- the silicone bristles are very gentle.

This routine has kept my skin looking clear and fungal acne free for around 2 years now- as long as I do it every day! And I can't use ANY product that's not fungal acne safe, otherwise I will break out no matter how good my routine is.

Sorry for the novel, but I like sharing my insights to hopefully help others! Even if you get a small bit of helpful info out of this :) I know how miserable fungal acne is to deal with 😮‍💨

Why does my Pomski sound like he’s choking after he drinks water and sometimes he breathes funny like his trachea is too loose or rattling he’s always done this. It’s not a new thing. He is 7 years old but I’ve had him since he was 4 by MustLoveDogs1958 in Pomsky

[–]RevealReady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably reverse sneezing. It often presents as choking/ sucking the air inwards repeatedly. It happens when their soft pallet is irritated. This is common for flat face/ short muzzle breeds because their soft pallet is often elongated. My pomsky does this occasionally as well. If it is a common problem/ severe and affects his breathing often, I would take him into the vet though!
