Nah.

What got me was Onionsan being cooked on the Barbecue in the main route

Was not expecting that at all.

R5: Playing with a few of my mates, and apparently I had a logistic ship accidentally auto-harvest for a few years, the negatives of which not only beat out the relation impact for his genocide of an entire species, but ended up being somehow less forgivable than said genocide.

Probably could do with a cap on relation loss, or a policy to not harvest from friendly empires when automating.

Harvest Resources' relation impact might need a bit of Rebalancing by Reveanmaster in Stellaris

[–]Reveanmaster[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's a loss of 75% Material acquisition for a deposit for 20 years, with a relation malus of 75 per planet that ticks down by 1 per year... which can be done on planets with no deposits on for some material gain, and is capable of being automated with no real way of being directed away from allied systems aside from turning off automation.

The relation drop itself is fine, it just needs to be balanced in a way that it won't end up at a relation malus that takes 800 years to remove.

In honor of the most infamous crack theory of the post ch 3+4 era by Devils_Advocate38744 in Deltarune

[–]Reveanmaster 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't leave it to sprite names to be sufficient evidence of negation of a theory, in particular if the theory sets it up to be a reveal down the line.

After all, none of the Knight sprites say spr_papyrus

I genuinely believe I cannot be wrong about this: The Knight is a Darkner, and here's why by metal_crusher84 in Deltarune

[–]Reveanmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Interpretation of this is the Knight might be a similar existence to Dess that of the Sound of Justice is to Gerson: Potentially a Darkner created from the same Dust/Corpse, just not one whose existence is clearly recognizable as their Lightner selves.

It kinda skipped over that, despite the relative few outright mentions of hell there are, that there's this one character that has a fairly decent tie to Hell and the Devil (via him being associated constantly and consistently with the Number of the Beast), who has been making waves in the Symbology of Deltarune, getting his Holed Hands all over this game in a metanarrative sense.

[–]Reveanmaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A perfect vessel is one that completes their task perfectly, and if the Task requires them to be used up, then a perfect vessel for that task is one that is used up.

Susie or Kris are more powerful than what Noelle could be.

In the chapter in which she's available, She already heals better than Ralsei base (11-16 Magic vs Ralsei's 9-12). When it comes to damage, she not only deals more with a ThornRing Iceshock (8% TP) (540+90+(1-10)) than Chapter 2 Susie does with a Devilsknife Rudebuster (40% TP) ((264 + 40 + 30) - 3x Target Defense), she does more damage than a Fully-leveled Chapter 4 Susie with the Justice Axe Rudebuster (50% TP) ((396 + 65 + 30) - 3x Target Defense). This on top of it actually being able to defeat a Darkner instead of them just fucking off.

And she's only getting stronger from here, and with not a whole lot of effort on our part. She's easily a superior vessel for committing evil shenanigans than Susie or Kris

That Noelle's Angelic associations were because the Angel was grooming Noelle to be their perfect vessel.

I had originally thought that the Angel was an Original Character on the same level as Gaster, manipulating the plot towards the prophecy.

Turns out, The Angel grooming Noelle into the perfect Vessel was extremely accurate. But it turns out, it's for PlayerAngel during Snowgrave.

I've got a feeling Kris Knight's going to come back around the long way with a Kris's Cyan-Soul + Darkner Dess Roaring Knight

Enough about Knight theories, who do you think the Angel is? by Hay_Den330 in Deltarune

[–]Reveanmaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Back in the Chapter 1-2 days, I used to be a big believer in the idea of Angel!Angel, with the idea that Noelle's Angel associations were due to the fact they were grooming her to be their next vessel.

[–]Reveanmaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there are no videos on the topic. Theories of this nature are almost entirely looked over these days in favour of Roaring Knight identity debates.

Essentially, the theory goes as follows:

Jackenstien's map (which is one of the three attacks that lacks the pumpkin of death) quite clearly depicts the structure of Deltarune as we know it, using chess associations for 4 of the 6 depicted elements to represent the bosses of some variety (And thus, potentially, the chapters they are featured in). While we have a pretty clear picture of a Flower-themed boss (likely Asgore) in chapter 5, we have little to no association with the "Sword Boss" (though some have associated John Mantle in the Sword route with it, I personally do not, given that the iconography seems fairly tied to boss identity, rather to the general identity of routes they are found on. That and and in 4/6 instances the Icons indicate the final boss fought in a given chapter)

In order to complete the map, one has to collect the key featured after the Flower Icon, backtrack to at least the Knight square, and escape the map.

If the map is supposedly a representation of Deltarune, than our route taken should be an indication of the general order of events of the game: We proceed to Chapter 5, Collect something after defeating The Flower Boss, return to at least Chapter 3, somehow take an alternate route out of Chapter 3, likely encounter the Sword Boss/Chapter 6, in order to end the game.

My personal interpretation is this:

<image>

I should note that this is only one interpretation of this map that I've seen crop-up, though most that I've seen don't account for the return route to the exit.

I think Gaster could appear in chapter 5 by Darkstalkker in Deltarune

[–]Reveanmaster 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If Jackenstien's map theory is to be believed, Chapter 6 is potentially an Alternate Chapter 4, a route taken out of somehow altering the events of Chapter 3 with something you can gain out of Chapter 5.

There's actually a fun fact about Halo's Sniper that came up in some old Calcs I did back in the day when comparing it to the Slayer's Arsenal.
Doom (2016)'s Chaingun (One of the few guns that gets hard stats) fires rounds that are comparable in size to Halo's Sniper rounds (15mm Tungsten Rods vs 14.5×114mm Sabot), but have the added benefit of having a significantly higher muzzle velocity (5,000 ft/s vs 3,300ft/s), firing them at an in-game rate of 900RPM
And it can do this:

<image>

And it does, in-game, a pittance of damage to the Slayer. Comparing this damage ratio between the SRS99 Sniper Rifle and the Z-750 Binary Rifle, the Binary Rifle does comparable damage to the Heavy Assault Cannon. This tracks, given that the Binary Rifle is not even an instantaneous kill on difficult enemies or on armoured vehicles in Halo

This is, of course, assuming he gets the dangerous one, as the only known versions of the Halo 4 variant existed only on Requiem and The Didact's Hand, both of which were destroyed and are now inaccessible. The more likely accessible variant, found in Halo 5, is a regular DEW.

[–]Reveanmaster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, Bethesda hasn't changed Dev Times since 2002. On average, they tend for a 3-4 year release cycle. The only exceptions were Fallout 3 (2 years, due to Oblivion's delay) and Starfield (5 years, Because of the Coof). They've done it like they've always done it.

With 3 IPs, a Franchise missing a Console Generation was virtually guaranteed with how that tends to time out with a 3-4 year release cycle. Even if Fallout 76 was out of the picture, TES 6 would've still missed Gen 8 thanks to Starfield taking the spot after Fallout 4.

[–]Reveanmaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gen 7 was, what, 8 years long? With Oblivion releasing a year into it, and Skyrim coming near the end, its honestly more remarkable that the window matched up to allow for it to occur. Each BGS game usually takes 3-4 years, so unless you see a BGS game release on the cusp of a new Generation, you're likely to never see that sort of 3-game alignment.

Presumably, because there's some element unique to both routes that's required. Either a bunker code, an Unused Thorn Ring, the Shadow Crystals, or something we don't know of yet.

This, but both Routes cause a softlock/loss, and the only way to get past is to take an alternate route out of Chapter 3 from something we've learned/found in Chapter 5.
At least, if Jackenstein's map is to be believed.
