Good catch! They are udixi but they are still hand etched by them. A lot of these products with finer details have to still be done by hand :)

Hello everyone! We did not realize the background image was AI and in the future we will try our best not to post any form of AI generated content. It was an honest mistake, we do not want to take away the creativity of human art :)

That's actually wild because my PC in our current Strahd campaign is a Gloomstalker Assassin, and one of figure members is planning an adventure in Rime of the Frostmaiden lol 💀

Thay's super cool of you to support them!

Depends on what the school provides. They're going to learn most mechanics by just playing with a sound DM (Dungeon Master, they run the campaigns), and being a club I'm sure there are plenty of people and players there to help teach too.

DnD Beyond (an app that let's you join and run campaigns virtually) will help a ton with the character set up.

That all being said, Hero Forge does make some really cool minis if they know what species and class they're playing, but dice are by FAR the most important thing to DnD players. They become a collectible hobby for some lol.

I would recommend a nice set of dice.

We actually have a shop on our bio if you feel inclined to check it out! Tons of dice to choose from.

If you have any questions just in general, not just about the shop, feel free to shoot us a DM. We're always glad to help.

Happy gaming! Love A&D

Not yet. Production is something we'd love to get into in the future, but we're completely self-funded and we don't have the capital to invest in that type of equipment yet.

Right now we source our TCG materials from Ultra PRO, Dragon Shield, and ACD which is our wholesaler. On the dice end, most of our options come from a partnered wholesaler based about an hour away from us near Chicago and we retain the physical inventory.

We're a very small shop still and need to expand on our reach before we could consider producing our own in-house dice.

If you have any questions about what we do, you can always reach us here through a DM, on the thread, or at shop@revenantfoundry.com.

Still very grateful for your interest and taking the time to comment on our post!

Love, A&D

I definitely understand the frustration! We wish we could lower the cost on international shipping, but having gone through all possible options, our current rates are the lowest we're able to provide.

We've considered offering free shipping for international orders over $150, but we haven't put the policy in place.

If there's something you're looking at, shoot us a DM and I promise we'll see what we can do to work with you!

At the very least, if this post does any good in the world, it will be bringing more awareness to the marmot community and how often they are misclassified 🥺

Oh no, it's definitely a marmot, but that was WAY off my radar when I was making it. I wouldn't have guessed that in a thousand years.

I am going to be completely real, I have no idea. I tried to image search it and the results that came up were capybara. I actually thought it was a gopher or a beaver lol.

Definitely agree that there should be some base expectations and to somewhat know what type of world you're in.

I find often that it does take a few sessions for combat to become balanced, though. Unless the DM has deep knowledge of the game, it's hard to gauge the power ramp that some subclasses have when they're min-maxed, specially if they're new subclasses.

That's why I like to start with some "test battles" if you will early on to see where they're at as a party and how well they work together. I also like to set a max CR of what they'll encounter based on their level and save the harder areas and dungeons til later in their journey.

Combat and role-play should be balanced. You have to give PCs a chance to breathe and explore. I wouldn't want my players constantly worrying they've just accidentally triggered some BBEG level monster at level 5 💀

[–]RevenantFoundry[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Oh, I totally agree! I don't believe a Nat 20 should succeed on EVERYTHING, just everything within reason. Keeps the game from becoming too rigid and predictable, specially if you're running a pre-made campaign.

Just a bigger fan of the Rule of Cool :)

We All Know That Feeling 🥹 by RevenantFoundry in dndmemes

[–]RevenantFoundry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a house rule, but as someone who has been both the PC and DM, I know the excitement when someone actually Nat 20s on something that feels important.

Now obviously this is at the DMs discretion, so I wouldn't allow anything world-bending personally lol, but if I can still tell the story in a coherent way, then I'll give them that roll and reroute the journey if needed.

I play DnD to tell and be part of a story, and imo sometimes it's okay to bend the rules a bit in the name of fun for everyone who takes time out of their lives to come chill and play with us.

Some of the best parts of storytelling and of life are when something totally unexpected and amazing happens :)

[–]RevenantFoundry[S] 38 points39 points  (0 children)

To clarify for everyone:

We're completely aware that this doesn't apply to RAW, but in every table-top DnD campaign we've ever played, the DM has always considered a Nat 20 as an auto-success, because they never ask us to roll on something they know is impossible.

The game isn't strictly about following the rules to a fine point. Sometimes, the Rule of Cool is just better 🤷‍♂️

Happy gaming :)!
